The UFC on FUEL TV 1 event taking place tonight (Wed., Feb. 15, 2012) in Omaha, Nebraska, kicked off its main card with a bantamweight scrap pitting the explosive Ivan Menjivar against the unheralded but dangerous John Albert.

And boy was it fun.

The two athletic and awesome 135-pound scrappers met in the center of the cage and wasted little time getting down to the matter at hand, exchanging punches, kicks, submission attempts, all that good stuff.

Ultimately, though, it was Menjivar who proved too strong, as he locked in a tight rear-naked choke that forced a tap from the young but still-promising Albert. That marks three wins in a row at bantamweight for "The Pride of El Salvador."

These two came out banging, looking to get down to business as soon as the referee called for action. It wasn't long before the two were on the mat trading submission attempts, Albert working for a triangle then an armbar then a triangle again.

It was exhausting just to look at.

Then the two started working dueling ankle locks. That is until Albert got back to his feet and landed a few crushing blows that had Menjivar stumbling around the cage and covering up like he was hurt bad.

Albert pounced, of course, but couldn't finish the job.

To finish this awesomely insane fight, Menjivar managed to take Albert's back and sink the hooks in before grabbing hold of a rear-naked choke that forced a tap.

Couldn't ask for a much better start to the evening.
