He is so popular, in fact, according to his manager, Ed Soares, when it comes to popularity, "The Spider's" fame in his native country of Brazil trumps that of basketball icons Kobe Bryant and Lebron James in good old USA. Blue chip sponsorships with Burger King and Nike, have definitely helped the 185-pound champ's cause.
UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and light heavyweight king, Jon Jones, may have inked deals with Nike, too, but they don't have featured television ads of their own (yet).
In his latest commercial ad for the sports apparel giant, Silva, along with soccer phenom, Neymar, whom Soare's says is the only other Brazilian athlete that beats Anderson in popularity, encourage you to "Encontre Sua Grandeza."
I don't know about you, but the guy dribbling the basketball with his knees has skills.
