UFC on FOX 5: 'Road to the Octagon' full video replay features emotional BJ Penn

Of all the compelling match ups featured on the UFC on FOX 5 fight card, the welterweight scrap between BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald may have the most at stake, at least for the Hawaiian. Find out why an emotional "Prodigy" is finally ready to hit his prime.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently broadcasted its "Road to the Octagon" special for its UFC on FOX 5: "Henderson vs. Diaz" event, which emanates from the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington, this Saturday night (Dec. 8, 2012) at 8 p.m. ET.

UFC on FOX 5 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight pitting reigning 155-pound champion Ben Henderson against division number one contender Nate Diaz. In addition, Alexander Gustafsson will try to declare himself light heavyweight number one contender when he tangles with former 205-pound champion Mauricio Rua.

Then we have B.J. Penn vs. Rory MacDonald in welterweight action.

"The Prodigy" has already made it quite clear why he wants to come back and face "Ares" (see his motivation right here) but this may be the most vulnerable we've seen him in years, to the point where the Hawaiian briefly breaks down over the sacrifices he's made for his family.

On his four-year-old daughter Aeva (15:18):

"Since she's been born I fought six fights, two month training camps. You know, I've been gone, so it's like I've been gone for a year. As I'm sure it is for every parent, it's like you're happy that they made it, but you're sad they're getting big. I'd like to believe that whatever was in the last few years, that's gone. Right here is a whole new era. That's why I say, I haven't had my prime yet. I've done some great things, I've had some great accomplishments, but I haven't had my prime."

Penn (16-8) is just 1-3-1 over his last five fights and was ready to call it a career after getting knocked around by Nick Diaz at the UFC 137: "Penn vs. Diaz" event in Oct. 2011. Earlier that year, he battled Jon Fitch to a majority draw in Australia.

Can the former champ return from a 14-month layoff and stop one of the division's most promising prospects?

We'll find out in just a few days.
