Sick ... or scared?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight competitor Jamie Varner was forced to withdraw from last night's (Dec. 15, 2012) Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 16 finale main card fight opposite Melvin Guillard, which was scheduled to go down at "The Joint" from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After the fight was cancelled, Guillard had a chance to talk with the gang at FUEL TV, offering little sympathy for his ailing foe and wondering aloud if his mystery illness was just an excuse to back out of their fight, recently rescheduled for UFC 155 on Dec. 29, 2012 at "Sin City's" MGM Grand Garden Casino.
Says "The Young Assassin:"
"I think what he done tonight was very cowardly. I saw the look in his eyes at weigh-ins, he didn't want to fight me. I'll just leave it at that, I'm not going to sit here and bash the guy, I have a level of respect for him as a person, but as a fighter I lost all respect for him. I just hope he don't back out again. They might want to have me some other guys lined up to make weight just in case he backs out again."
Obviously not the compassionate type.
We'll see if Guillard's prediction rings true in just under two weeks, but it's hard to imagine a longtime veteran like Varner sticking his finger down his throat a few hours before a fight. Then again, stranger things have happened. What's your take on this, Maniacs?
Anyone besides Melvin think Varner pulled a fast one?
