The main card of the UFC on FX 6: "Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson" event may as well have been called the Ultimate Fighter: "Smashes" Finale. That's because it featured the two finals match-ups from this past season set in Australia, as well as a main event of the two coaches facing off at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach last night (Fri., Dec. 14, 2012).
It was one hell of a night.
The two TUF finals went to decision with mostly satisfactory results, if only because it was clear in each contest that the better man emerged victorious.
Congratulations to Norman Parke and Robert Whittaker, with apologies to Colin Fletcher and Bradley Scott.
But the bouts featuring UFC veterans, Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares and George Sotiropoulos vs. Ross Pearson, were as explosive as any fan could have hoped.
That's because Lombard and Pearson both scored pleasing knockout victories in rounds one and three, respectively. The audience was likely small but the destruction was grand.
