UFC on Fox 5 payouts and salaries: Mauricio Rua tops BJ Penn and Ben Henderson with $175k payday

UFC on Fox 5 went down this past weekend and it's not surprise that the two legends used to bring eyeballs to the show, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and "The Prodigy" BJ Penn, were the biggest benefactors. Find out all the disclosed payouts below.

UFC on Fox 5 fighter payouts for those who competed at the "Henderson vs. Diaz" network television event this past Saturday night (Dec. 8, 2012) from the KeyArena in Seattle were released earlier today. We've got all the big disclosed paydays (via MMA Weekly).

Longtime UFC veteran and former 205-pound division champion Mauricio Rua beat out main event headliner and lightweight champion Ben Henderson with a $175,000 payday, which he earned despite his unanimous decision defeat to Alexander Gustafsson ($60,000) in their light heavyweight showdown.

"Smooth" Henderson took home $78,000 for his five round domination over Nate Diaz ($50,000) but he was only third in overall pay for the show.

That's because former multi-divisional champion "The Prodigy" BJ Penn banked $150,000 in his return from retirement, losing badly via unanimous decision to rising welterweight phenom Rory MacDonald ($42,000). Also raking in a hefty paycheck was German featherweight Dennis Siver ($62,000) who forced Nam Phan to earn every last cent of his $10,000 payday in a thorough beatdown.
