The main card of the UFC on FUEL TV 6: "Franklin vs. Le" event in Macau, China, today (Nov. 10, 2012) kicked off with a bantamweight battle pitting Takeya Mizugaki vs. Jeff Hougland.

Both fighters came in hoping to rebound from recent losses, with Mizugaki attempting to keep true to his win one, lose one streak while Hougland was looking to begin another long winning streak.

The action was fast and furious early, as Mizugaki rushed in only to catch an eye poke. The referee didn't give him time to recover, though, and Hougland took advantage with some solid knees to the body. Not long after, they were on the floor with Hougland fighting for submissions in between Mizugaki throwing heavy punches from guard.

The second round was largely the same as the first, with Mizugaki mostly dominant from top position while Hougland simply looked for any opening he could to end the fight.

Didn't happen.

Hougland finally landed a big shot early in the final frame but Mizugaki ended up getting a takedown and sitting on top again anyway. Referee stand ups affected the bout, as each one of them were indefensible, but it didn't change the eventual outcome.

Mizugaki ground Hougland down to win a unanimous decision on scores of 30-25, 30-27, and 30-27.

Yawn.
