A major flyweight fight that failed to garner nearly the promotion it should have took place on the UFC on FX 5: "Browne vs. Bigfoot" main card tonight (Oct. 5, 2012) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as John Dodson threw hands against Jussier da Silva.

On the line? A 125-pound championship bout against recently crowned division king Demetrious Johnson.

Perhaps such an incredible opportunity hanging over their heads made them a little gun shy, as the opening frame featured nothing more than patience, a few punches and kicks, and boisterous booing from the folks at the Target Center.

Hard to blame them.

Round two offered much of the same, only this time Dodson connected clean on a hard shot that put da Silva, a former number one ranked flyweight, on his ass and scrambling to recover.

He did so but another hard left hand from Dodson put him back on the floor and the following onslaught of punches was enough to finish the job.

Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson for the flyweight title, Maniacs. Sound good?
