BELLATOR 75 MTV2 MAIN CARD BLOW-BY-BLOW COVERAGE:

Patrick here ... I will be your substitute Hemmi for the evening.

265 lbs.: Eric Prindle vs. Thiago Santos

Round one: Prindle’s tramp stamp seems a bit incongruous.

Anyway, both guys hanging out at range early. Santos wings a right hand and gets an easy takedown. Santos in side control and now in north-south. North-south choke attempt is unsuccessful, but Santos still on top. Prindle really looks like he has no idea what he’s doing on the mat. Santos looking for a kimura on the left arm, no dice. North-south again, then he goes back to side control. Going for the kimura again is Santos but can’t get it. Hammerfists by Santos. Americana attempt this time, but it’s a feint and he goes for the armbar on the other arm. It looks deep but Prindle escapes. Prindle rolls out and Santos fails a guillotine in spectacular fashion and winds up on his back. Axe kick to the balls from Prindle and Thiago looks hurt. He’s writhing in pain and oh my god I did not want to see that replay. Ow. Okay, Santos probably deserved that, but damn, son.

STOP SHOWING THE REPLAY. Jesus…

Fight’s over. It’s a DQ.

Final Result: Santos def. Prindle by disqualification

265 lbs.: Brett Rogers vs. Alexander Volkov

Round one: Volkov should either beef up or drop to 205. Dude’s a string bean.

Fighters trade leg kicks to start. Combo from Volkov is blocked, Rogers responds in kind and is also denied. Good jabs by Volkov. Left from Rogers connects during a Volkov combo and the Russian responds by knocking out his mouthpiece with a right straight. They reset and Volkov starts working combinations. Rogers needs to close the distance or at least stop just covering up when Volov throws. Liver kick and another by Volkov. Volkov catches a kick and lands some solid punches before letting it go. Rogers rushes him but can’t tie him up. Good straight and body blows by Volkov, but Rogers smacks him up close with an uppercut and he backs off. Counter right from Rogers seems to buzz Volkov but the Russian is alright. Blocked combination from the Russian. Uppercut by Volkov. Rogers on his back foot; he’s blocking most of Volkov’s shots but he’s not responding. More heavy combinations by Volkov to close out the round; Rogers tries to take him down at the bell but can’t. 10-9 Volkov.

Round two: Rogers does not have the look of a confident man.

Nice jabs by Volkov to start the round. Rogers’ back against the fence as Volkov tries to fake him out with hand movement. Another combination by Volkov, no response from Rogers. Again. Another. Rogers needs to do something different. Leg kick from the Russian. Inside this time. Straight from Volkov gets through. Low-high combination connects for Volkov, Rogers jabs the body. Hard right from the Russian backs Rogers into the fence. Rogers denies a head kick and backs off. Kicks to the body from Volkov and a straight to the breadbasket. Rogers tries to shoot during a Volkov flurry, but can’t get it. Nice right to the body from Volkov. A lot of the Russian’s punches are hitting Rogers’ arms, but he’s landing and Rogers isn’t. Nice body kick lands for Volkov. Leg kick. Rogers tries a one-two that comes up woefully short. Another good combination from Volkov and a stiff jab at the bell. One-way traffic. 10-9 Volkov.

Round three: Volkov working his jab to start things off. Leg kick now. Rogers just looks completely cowed in there. He tries to rush and eats a flurry. Rogers pumping his jab but there’s nothing behind it. Leg kick by the Russian. Right straight same. Body shot connects for Volkov and another. Two solid jabs kicks off another flurry. Rogers is doing nothing as Volkov comes in. Another good jab by Volkov. Straight connects by Volkov; Rogers finally shoots and is easily stuffed, eating a right on the way out. Rogers is exhausted, somehow. Rogers literally turning and running when Volkov lands. Volkov on the attack. Spinning back kick misses. Jab doesn’t. Nice right by Volkov before the bell. Truly pathetic performance from Rogers. 10-9 Volkov.

Final Result: Volkov def. Rogers by unanimous decision

-end-

265 lbs.: Richard Hale vs. Mike Wessel

Round one: Interesting contrast in body types.

Hale lands a beautiful combo early, forcing Wessel to shoot. It backfires quickly, however, as Hale gets his back. Both hooks in as Hale flattens him out and starts pounding away. No response from Wessel and the referee steps in. Wow.

Final Result: Hale def. Wessel by TKO

-end-

265 lbs.: Mark Holata vs. Vinicius Kappke de Queiroz

Round one: Holy crap that referee is enormous.

Anyway, Holata shoots in inside twenty seconds and drives "Spartan" into the fence. He’s still up and avoids a trip attempt before disengaging. Good knee on the break by Queiroz and a solid left. Both fighters club each other inside before "Spartan" backs off and lands a stiff jab. HUGE left from Holata flattens Queiroz! Holata dropping hammerfists but the Brazilian is okay. Holata briefly has side control but Queiroz regains half guard as things slow down. Queiroz doing a good job of controlling Holata and avoiding hammerfists. Rubber guard now from Quieroz, who looks for a triangle but can’t get it. Queiroz spins for an armbar and there's the tap. Great comeback for the Chute Boxe rep.

Final Result: Queiroz def. Holata by submission (armbar)

-end-
