UFC on FX 5: 'Angry' Bigfoot Silva going into Travis Browne fight with an 'all-or-nothing' attitude

Times have been tough lately for Antonio Silva, who is currently on a two-fight skid under the ZUFFA umbrella.

After getting knocked out in the first round by Daniel Cormier in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix back in 2011, "Bigfoot" was brought into the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ranks to test his skills against former champion, Cain Velasquez at UFC 146.

Unfortunately, things didn't get better for the massive Brazilian, as Cain steamrolled passed the heavy-handed striker en route to a very bloody first round technical knockout (TKO) victory.

That's quite a downfall for a man who is one of only three people in the world than can say they have defeated perhaps the greatest heavyweight to ever compete in mixed martial arts (MMA), Fedor Emelianenko.

With his back against the wall and facing perhaps being cut from the UFC's roster, Silva will take on undefeated (11-0-1) Travis Browne, this Friday, (Oct. 5, 2012) as the two big men headline UFC on FX 5: "Browne vs. Silva."

Looking to avoid three straight defeats, Silva tells ESPN he is heading into the bout against "Hapa" with an "all or nothing" attitude.

"This fight for me is all-or-nothing. I'm coming into this fight knowing the importance of fighting in the UFC. The UFC is the best promotion in the world, and by having a better performance and victory, it will transcend into a better life for my family. It will also transcend into a better life for me professionally."

Though Silva's previous two losses were by knockout, they came at the hands of two of the most decorated wrestlers in all of MMA in Cormier and Velasquez. Heading into the bout with Travis, Antonio feels he won't have to worry too much about the wrestling aspect of the fight game.

"I like to fight against strikers. I'm not taking anything away from Browne, he is definitely a good fighter, but his wrestling skills aren't to the level of Cormier and Cain Velasquez. Unfortunately during my first fight in UFC [against Velasquez] I got cut and was unable to continue. But this time I am going to go out there and show the UFC fans the fighter that I really am. You're going to see a ‘Bigfoot' who is angry and with an appetite for a victory."

With his head on the proverbial chopping block, "Bigfoot" knows he is in a do-or-die situation and come Friday night, the 6 ft. 4 in., 264 lb. behemoth will look to put and end to his woes at the expense of the Hawaiian.
