The next season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil" apparently has its coaches: Former PRIDE heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and jiu-jitsu ace Fabricio Werdum.
Verbal agreements are reportedly in place between the two fighters to coach TUF: "Brazil 2," according to reports from Globo Esporte, and then, naturally (barring typical injury or catastrophe), step inside the cage themselves to see who is the better man.
It's important to note that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has not yet released an official statement or confirmed this report.
TUF: "Brazil 2" will kick off filming in Jan. 2013, airing on the Brazilian mega-channel of Globo sometime in March. The upcoming season is expected to feature a cast full Welterweight hopefuls, vying for the guaranteed UFC contract that is awarded to the tournament's eventual winner.
The UFC is so far tight-lipped about the second season, but U.S. fans who want to watch the show are probably in luck -- TUF: "Brazil 1" aired eventually on FUEL TV, as well as UFC.com.
"Minotauro" has been a TUF coach before, but never in Brazil. Instead, he served as a coach for TUF 8 in the United States opposite Frank Mir. "Vai Cavallo," meanwhile, is already a TUF: "Brazil" veteran, having been tapped by Wanderlei Silva to be his team's jiu-jitsu coach for TUF: "Brazil 1."
Nogueira and Werdum will fight at the end of the season, but it won't be the first time. Nogueira won a unanimous decision over his countryman in 2006 in the quarterfinals of the Openweight Grand Prix in PRIDE.
Both heavyweights are coming off of Octagon wins, both finishes and both taking place in Brazil. Nogueira submitted Dave Herman at UFC 153 while Werdum scored a technical knockout over Mike Russow at UFC 147.
