Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to kick off its UFC 155: "Dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2" annual New Year's Eve pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza, scheduled to go down on Sat., Dec. 29, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Will history repeat itself in "Sin City?"
The main event features a heavyweight championship rematch pitting reigning division kingpin Junior dos Santos against former 265-pound titleholder Cain Velasquez, who coughed up the gold at the inaugural UFC on FOX event just over a year ago.
Expect fireworks.
The co-headliner will see ex-Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin return to the cage to battle top division prospect Phil Davis, while Chris Weidman tries to stay "in the mix" against middleweight Barbarian Tim Boetsch. Elsewhere on the card, perennial lightweight contender Gray Maynard looks to repel the unorthodox offense of Joe Lauzon.
