Diamonds are forever.
We'll see the return of one later this year when Dustin Poirier makes his way back to the Octagon for his first time since his "Fight of the Year" candidate against Chan Sung Jung back at UFC on FUEL TV 3 in May at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
He'll take on Jonathan Brookins at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 16 Finale on Sat., Dec. 15, 2012, at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC.com brought word of the planned bout.
Following his defeat to "The Korean Zombie," Poirier joined up with American Top Team in the hopes to make another push towards the top of the featherweight division.
If he's to do so, he'll have to get past Brookins, who is just 1-2 since winning TUF 12 back in Dec. 2010. He's also coming off a loss, a second round submission defeat to Charles Oliveira at the TUF 15 Finale.
The TUF 16 Finale will feature coaches Roy Nelson and Shane Carwin meeting up to settle their differences with fisticuffs with Mike Pyle vs. James Head scheduled for the main card as well.
