It took one more fight than it was supposed to but Demetrious Johnson eventually won the flyweight tournament and his prize for doing so was being awarded the first ever UFC 125-pound championship.
But there ain't no rest for the weary.
Almost immediately, a number one contender for his title emerged in the form of John Dodson, who won The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 14 at bantamweight before cutting down to his more natural weight class and defeating Tim Elliott and Jussier da Silva in consecutive fights.
That's an impressive enough resume to send him into the deep end. But he'll do so as a +215 underdog, according to MMA Oddsbreaker, who peg Johnson as the -285 favorite.
No date or location has been announced for the bout but it's expected to take place sometime early next year.
You Maniacs agree with the early betting line? Anyone rushing to put money on Dodson?
