Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is all set to pull the trigger on its final pay-per-view (PPV) fight card of the year, which is scheduled to take place TONIGHT (Sat., Dec. 29, 2012) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC 155: "Dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2" will feature a monster heavyweight rematch between current titleholder Junior dos Santos against the man he took the 265-pound strap from last year, Cain Velasquez. In the co-main event, Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon will collide in a lightweight showdown that will inch the winner closer to the top of the 155-pound heap heading into the New Year.

265 lbs.: UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez

Round one: Velasquez pressing the action early and grabs a single leg. Velasquez takes Dos Santos down but he pops right back to his feet. Velasquez telegraphs a takedown attempt and misses badly. Velasquez lands a nice left hand and he's the clear aggressor early on. Velasques shoots in and attempts a single leg but dos Santos slips free. Unrelenting pressure from Velasquez and he initiates a clinch, throwing short left hands on the inside before dos Santos forces a separation. Velasquez scores with a right hand over the top and then another. He unloads a short flurry and a huge right hand from Velasquez drops dos Santos! More right hands from Velasquez and dos Santos is trying to get back to his feet but he's stuck on one knee! Dos Santos gets taken down with ease and drops punches on the ground. Dos Santos turtles until the end of the round. 10-8 Velasquez Wow!

Round two: Combination from Velasquez wobbles dos Santos and Velasquez takes him down again. Dos Santos is already tired and Velasquez is all over him on the ground, dropping short punches. Dos Santos works his way back to his feet but Velasquez drives forward and dumps him on the canvas again. Dos Santos turtles and gets back to his feet but Velasquez manhandles him back to the canvas. Dos Santos again works his way back to his feet but Velasquez nails him with a left hand. Another takedown from Velasquez and Velasquez is hunting for an armbar on the ground. Dos Santos slips free and Velasquez clinches. Velasquez blasts dos Santos with heavy short punches until the end of the round. 10-9 Velasquez

Round three: Uppercut from dos Santos and another, he throws a right hand to the body but Velasquez shoots in and takes him down. Dos Santos works back to his feet but Velasquez clinches, throwing short knees. Velasquez attempts a single leg but gives up on it. Velasquez closes the distance with a clinch and both men are looking tired now. Leg kick from Velasquez and he steps in with a huge right hand. Short strikes in the clinch from Velasquez and dos Santos fires back with an elbow. Velasquez drops for a single leg but can't get a grip on dos Santos' leg. Good knee from dos Santos but Velasquez fires back with short uppercuts on the inside, dropping to the body. Body kick from Velasquez and more dirty boxing from the inside. The crowd is cheering for dos Santos but Velasquez steps back and connects with a combination. Dos Santos has nothing on his punches anymore. Uppercut from dos Santos but Velasquez walks right through it. 10-9 Velasquez

Round four: Both men are tired here as we enter the fourth. Leg kick from Velasquez and he clinches, but dos Santos fires back with a left to the body. Velasquez shoots in for a takedown and gets it but dos Santos pops back to his feet. Elbow from dos Santos and Velasquez attempts a takedown but can't get it. Dos Santos takes inside position along the fence and attempts a takedown but can't get it. Overhand right from dos Santos misses and Velasquez takes him down again but dos Santos gets back to his feet again. Body shot from Cain and then an uppercut and dos Santos is hurt. Dos Santos is wobbly along the fence but Velasquez clinches with him. They separate and Velasquez grabs a leg but clinches again, throwing short right hands. Good right hand from dos Santos after a separation and then another. Dos Santos takes inside position along the fence and fends off a takedown from Velasquez. Jab from dos Santos and Velasquez clinches until the end of the round. 10-9 Velasquez

Round five: Dos Santos grabs the fence to avoid a takedown, gets warned and throws a good left to the body. Velasquez grabs a single leg but dos Santos throws short uppercuts and fends him off. They clinch and dos Santos land a right hand. Takedown attempt misses for Velasquez and both men trade short shots on the inside before separating. Velasquez clinches and backs off before stepping inside again and scoring a trip takedown. Right hands from Velasquez and dos Santos turtles, escaping to his feet but they clinch again. Velasquez gives up on his takedown attempt and throws a pair of straight punches before clinching again. Dos Santos' face is a swollen mess. Huge head kick connects for Velasquez and they clinch again, with Velasquez throwing uppercuts on the inside until time expires. 10-9 Velasquez

Round one: Miller with a combination early and he's got control of the cage center, backing Lauzon off and scoring a huge inside leg kick. Knee to the body from Miller and Lauzon fires back with a left hand to the body.l Right hand from Lauzon and Miller staggers Lauzon with an inside leg kick. Lauzon backs into the fence covering up and Miller unloads some huge right hands. Huge body kick from Miller and he blasts Lauzon with a flurry of blows. Knee tothe body and an uppercut from Miller but Lauzon responds with a knee to the head. Big leg kick from Miller staggers Lauzon again and he's in complete control. Huge shots from Miller with knees and righ thands and Lauzon is really hurt. Lauzon is bleeding badly, his face a crimson mask and Miller attempts a standing arm triangle. They stop the action to check out Lauzon's cut and they allow the action to continue. Left hand from Miller and he stuffs a Lauzon takedown attempt with a huge knee, pouring it on with punches but Lauzon fires back. Big left hand from Miller and Lauzon fires back with a huge knee which backs Miller off. Another combination from Miller and he is just teeing off on Lauzon. Both men knock each other down with kicks and Miller steps forward with a left hand. Lauzon is opened up again, blood pouring down the right side of his face. Inside leg kick from Miller and he scores with another flurry, hurting Lauzon but he can't finish as Lauzon fires back. Lauzon throws a big knee to the body at the end of the round. 10-8 Miller and the crowd is loving it.

Round two: Miller presses forward with a combination and Lauzon tries to fires back, but Miller shoots in and takes him down, dropping elbows and punches. Lauzon has closed guard but he's bleeding badly again. Miller passes to half guard and is working to secure a mount and he gets it. Lauzon is in big trouble here. Miller is working for a D'Arce choke but Lauzon avoids danger and actually takes top position. Miller thinks about rubber guard but can't get his leg up and he's stuck on his back. Miller puts his left leg up in mission control which neutralizes Lauzon's top control. Lauzon picks Miller up and attempts to slam him which creates some space to work. Lauzon latches onto a leg and he rolls for a heel hook but Miller escapes and attempts a single leg at the end of the round. 10-9 Miller

Round three: Miller opens up with his hands but drops Lauzon with an inside leg kick, but allows him back to his feet. Both men trade combinations and Lauzon throws a good left hand to the body. Huge inside leg kick from Miller drops Lauzon again. Miller kicks at Lauzon's legs but lets him back to his feet. Lauzon tries to throw some punches but Miller responds with big combinations to back him off. Lauzon is now bleeding out of his left eye too and he eats another inside leg kick which staggers him. Uppercut from Miller and both men are slowing down a bit here as Miller lands a left hand. Lauzon is bleeding badly but he throws a good knee to the body and backs him up with a left uppercut. Knee from Miller and a left hand and both men trade uppercuts on the inside. Both men are exhausted but they're still throwing with everything they got. Big left elbow from Miller and both men trade weak shots on the inside. Good right hand from Miller and Lauzon steps inside and drops down for a heel hook. He's got Miller in an ankle lock, wrapping Miller up in a guillotine choke as time expires. 10-9 Miller What a fight!

Final result: Jim Miller defeats Joe Lauzon via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

185 lbs.: Tim Boetsch vs. Constantinos Philippou

Round one: Boetsch moves forward early, missing with a front kick, but he's got Philippou pressed against the fence. Knee to the body from Boetsch and he's got Philippou on the ground finally. Philippou wall-walks back to his feet but he's still got his back against the fence. They trade knees and finally separate as Boetsch backs Philippou off with another push kick. Leg kick from Boetsch and he avoids a right hand from Philippou. Boetsch backs Philippou off with a combination but eats an short overhand right. Big right uppercut lands for Philippou but Boetsch backs him into the cage once more, although Philippou circles free. Philippou steps forward but Boetsch changes levels and dumps him on the ground. Boetsch can't get much going and the ref stands them up. Costa steps forward and unloads a combination but Boetsch absorbs it and fires back. Front kick from Boetsch knocks Philippou down at the end of the round. 10-9 Boetsch

Round two: Boetsch ducks a right hand and presses Philippou into the fence, firing off a nice knee before backing off. Boetsch is bleeding from his forehead, apparently from an accidental headbutt. Boestch shoots in for a takedown but can't secure it and they trade punches on the inside. The commentators think Boetsch's hand is broken so we'll see how that affects him throughout the rest of the contest. Boetsch attempts an elbow and changes levels but eats an eye poke. They reset and Boetsch throws his front kick but Philippou senses weakness and turns up the aggression. Boetsch shoots in for a takedown but gets stuffed easily. Boetsch pulls guard and drops to his back as Philippou takes top position and drops some right hands. Boetsch has full guard but Philippou passes to half and drops some nice right hands and elbows. Philippou drops right hands until time expires. 10-9 Philippou

Round three: Boetsch shoots in for a takedown but Philippou sprawls and lands a right hand. Boetsch pulls guard and Philippou drops heavy shots which opens him up badly. Philippou lets Boetsch back up and Boetsch's face is a mess. Boetsch shoots for a takedown and can't finish it. Boetsch is in serious trouble here. Another takedown attempt from Boetsch is stuffed and Philippou unloads some right hands. Boetsch can't fight back and the ref puts a stop to it.

Final result: Costa Philippou defeats Tim Boetsch via TKO at 2:11 of round three

185 lbs.: Alan Belcher vs. Yushin Okami

Round one: Belcher tries to get the striking going but he eats a jab and slips. Okami takes advantage and secures top position, dropping punches and smothering him with top control. Belcher gets back to his feet but Okami continues to press him. Okami works for a takedown and Belcher fends him off this time but he goes for an ill-advised guillotine choke, which allows Okami to take top position again. Belcher working the rubber guard to no avail and Okami passes to side control, not dropping much damage down although he keeps Belcher down for the remainder of the frame. 10-9 Okami

Round two:Belcher opens with a head kick but Okami pushes him into the fence and works for a takedown. Okami attempts a throw but Belcher winds up on top, although he again goes for the guillotine and gives up top position. Okami throws occasional strikes, but nothing signifincant and the ref stands them up. Belcher makes things interesting with a right hand that wobbles Okami, but he can't capitalize on the situation, allowing Okami to recover and take him down once more. Okami again with top control, throwing occasional punches, and they're stood up once more, although nothing significant happens until time expires. 10-9 Okami

Round three: Belcher opens on the feet and he rocks Okami with a right hand. Okami tries to clinch but gets shoved off. Okami pressing forward and Okami closes the distance, clinching against the fence and attempting a takedown but Belcher lands on top in full mount! Okami gives up his back and stands up but Belcher slips off. Okami presses forward and drags Belcher to the ground, securing top position. Belcher really should have backed off when he had the chance. Okami takes top position and progresses through Belcher's guard, passing to full mount and dropping heavy punches. Okami is postured up for now, dropping right hands and Belcher gives up his back. Okami has both hooks in on Belcher's back and he rides out top position with heavy punches until time expires. 10-9 Okami

Final result: Yushin Okami defeats Alan Belcher via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

185 lbs.: Chris Leben vs. Derek Brunson

Round one: High kick from Brunson gets things started and both men are really keeping their distance. Leben catches a kick and fires back with a left hand but Brunson grabs underhooks and takes him down. Leben brings his legs up looking to be active off his back but Brunson avoids danger for now. Leben tries to scramble but Brunson stays on top of him and now passes to full mount. Leben hip escapes but eats a big left elbow from Brunson, who's on top in half guard. Leben retains full guard but Brunson drops some good punches. Leben backs into the fence thinking about cagewalking back to his feet and he does, but there's only 20 seconds left in the round. Brunson clinches Leben against the fence nearly until time expires. 10-9 Brunson

Round two: Brunson with a push kick early and Leben tries to step in with a right hand. Leg kick from Brunson and he shoots in for a takedown but Leben fends him off for now. Knee from Brunson and he's got an underhook along the fence but Leben again fends him off. Big left hand from Leben and Brunson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Brunson looks tired and Leben needs to get back to his feet. Leben sits up along the fence and drops some elbows on Brunson, getting back to his feet. Brunson attempts a guillotine but backs off. Brunson is exhausted. Big shot from Leben and both men trade shots. Leben easily fends off a takedown attempt and he's got Brunson on his heels. Leg kick from Leben and then another. Leben is stalking here but Brunson fires back with a good left hand. Leg kick from Leben and he snaps Brunson's head back with a right hand. Brunson clinches and he's got two underhooks but Leben pushes him away. Leben is the aggressor now and Brunson is potentially going to be in big trouble if he can't put Leben on his back. Takedown attempt from Brunson is stuffed and Leben lands a knee on the inside. Haymaker misses for Leben at the end of the round. 10-9 Leben

Round three: Leg kick from Leben and Brunson misses with a left hand. Another leg kick from Leben and Brunson responds with a good left. Brunson shoots in for a takedown but Leben stuffs it and fires back with an elbow. Both men are tired and it all comes down to whether Leben can score that big shot while avoiding a takedown. Brunson shoots in and puts Leben on his back again. Leben works his way back to his feet and backs Brunson into the fence with repeated left hands. Leben stuffs a takedown and throws a pair of leg kicks. Left hand from Leben and Brunson taunts him a bit and Brunson is running away a bit now. Another leg kick from Leben and that's been his most effective strike of the night. More kicks from Leben and he stuffs a takedown. Crowd is getting restless and Leben stalks Brunson with a left hand but eats a left counter. One minute left and both men are exhausted. Left hand connects for Leben and then another. Brunson shoots in and times Leben's forward movement with a takedown to dump him on his back. Leben creates separation and gets back to his feet but can't land anything significant. 10-9 Brunson

Final result: Derek Brunson defeats Chris Leben via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

UFC 155 PLAY-BY-PLAY LIVE "PRELIMS" UNDER CARD COMMENTARY (FX):

135 lbs.: Brad Pickett vs. Eddie Wineland

Round one: Final fight of the prelims, which means I get to stop typing soon and start pounding alcohol like it was my job. Pickett in red, Wineland in black and we have Yves. Wineland hustles to the center cage and they feel each other out a bit. Rogan brings up their common opponent in Scott Jorgensen. Lotta punching so far, but not too much damage. There we go, Wineland lands a nice right. Rogan makes good note of the differing boxing styles of the two fighters - Wineland with his hands low, and Pickett with a tighter defense. Wineland hits a BIG punch that drops Pickett to a knee. Wineland coming forward, but Pickett seems to have recovered. Wineland with the accuracy early, as FX hits us with a 22-7 head strike advantage towards Wineland. Hoo-boy, Wineland is landing tight and drops Pickett to a knee again. Good recovery from Pickett, but he can't keep eating solid punches to the head and win this. Pickett shoots for a takedown, but Wineland shrugs him off. Pickett shows some better head movement as he continues the round. The rest of the round looks a little better for Pickett as he hits a couple of good lefts to the body then head, but he lost this round easily.

Round two: Pickett with a jab and a hook, as he starts out a bit better than the beginning of last round. Good movement from both fighters so far. Neither fighter has really found their range through much of this round and the crowd starts to get a bit restless. Wineland doing some hand weaving while Pickett hits some low kicks. Lead hook for Wineland. Pickett misses a leaping uppercut as Wineland shuffles sideways. Left from Pickett and Wineland misses an overhand right. Wineland has a cut finally to match the bleeding on Pickett's face. Tough round to score, although Wineland's corner thinks he won that, too.

Round three: A lot of sticking and moving with many punches being thrown, but not a whole lot of fists hitting faces. Pickett's still hitting the leg kicks, but it isn't slowing Wineland down too much it seems. Pickett with a leaping right hand that lands square but doesn't faze Wineland. Strong leg kick from Pickett. Uppercut from Wineland. They exchange jabs then trade rights. Lead hook from Pickett hits, but Wineland thuds in a solid right and moves out to his left. Great footwork from both guys, but especially Wineland tonight. Pickett with a pair of lefts to the body. Wineland hits a jab and a right. Pickett's corner is screaming for him to GOGOGO, but he's not able to land cleanly and with repeated effect on Wineland, who's popping and moving.

Both fighters raise their hands as the crowd jeers (really? How tacky). I'm guessing another split decision is upcoming.

Final result: Yup. Eddie Wineland wins via Split Decision (30-27 x3, 28-29)

135 lbs.: Byron Bloodworth vs. Erik Perez

Round one: Man, what is Anik on about with the "Promotional Machine" bit? You don't reveal what's behind the curtain! It's all deserved and not just hype! Winslow in the cage, Perez in white, Bloodworth in black. Overhand by Bloodworth but Perez fires back quickly. Raucous crowd early for Perez, who backs Bloodworth into the fence. Bloodworth reverses, and Perez reverses back. Control and dirty boxing ensues from both men as they struggle at close quarters. Bloodworth eats a BIG knee to the solar plexus and drops down. Perez on top in full guard swinging down punches. Bloodworth gets a semblance of arm control and breaks Perez's posture down. Winslow's been very vocal on "watch the ___" warnings to fighters tonight. More GNP from Perez as he's landing left punches and elbows. Right elbows now, but Bloodworth hasn't been badly hurt yet, although he's being pounded. Perez hits him with a big elbow and then opens freely as Bloodworth starts to cover up. Perez rains down right hands and Winslow stops it. Good stoppage here.

Final result: Erik Perez wins via TKO (ground and pound punches) at 3:50 of round 1

155 lbs.: Melvin Guillard vs. Jamie Varner

Round one: Bad beef fight of the night, and I'm not referring to a bad case of gas. Guillard in the white spandex and Varner in black and white trunks. They surprisingly touch gloves and Guillard lands the first shot with a low kick. Varner misses a wide left hook. Guillard with two more solid leg kicks. Rogan warning us about Guillard's need to keep his emotions in check. Rowdy crowd as they boo for no apparent reason. Varner with a lead high kick that gets blocked. Melvin presses forward with a combo, but misses and they re-circle to center cage. Another powerful leg kick from Guillard. And another. And another. That's eight so far that all landed in between the knee and the hip. Another and Varner's knee is starting to look like a tomato. They exchange in the middle and Varner gets the better of it, sending Guillard backwards. Varner with a takedown attempt that Guillard stuffs. Right-left-right from Varner and he lands the two rights. Varner pressing forward and wobbles Guillard. Guillard falls (possibly from a slip), but gets right back up. Varner scoops Guillard's legs out from under him and goes for a guillotine, but there isn't enough time left and the round ends.

Rogan and Anik proclaim it a good five minutes for Varner, but aside from that last 30 seconds, I think Guillard was winning with the powerful, powerful kicks.

Round two: Guillard lands a kick, but Varner rushes forward with a takedown and gets it. Varner on top, but just barely as he tries to maintain top position. They scramble and Melvin flips Varner over and is on top. Varner shoots for a single and Guillard counters with a guillotine. They reset and Guillard hits a nice straight right, another huge leg kick and then a big left leg high kick. Varner presses forward with punches and gets some as he takes Melvin into the fencing. Guillard with a pair of uppercuts, but Varner hits a power double as he scoops the legs. Varner struggling for top position again, but Guillard is able to wall walk and get upright. Varner with a solid right. They swing kicks at the same time and Melvin takes one in the dinger. The cameras zoom in and we get Melvin telling the ref "I took it in the asshole".

Whoops.

Guillard recovers soon ad we're back up. Varner finally checks a leg kick, and the round ends without further incident.

Round three: Guillard presses forward, as this fight is pretty close. Varner gets a takedown about 45 seconds in and he's standing over Guillard who has his back to the cage. Guillard is busy defending from a guillotine and eating punches. Varner goes for a Peruvian necktie and slips into bottom position. Guillard in Varner's guard and he gets a couple elbows in. Varner uses the cage to stand but eats a knee. Varner is pushing forward and gets another takedown up against the fence. Full guard for Guillard, some GNP for Varner... Melvin spins and gets up. Two minutes to go and I'd think Guillard has to start getting desperate, as both rounds were close. Guillard swings a big hook just as Varner ducks under for a double and hits it. Wow, Guillard spins for a snazzy armbar and uses it to get on top in a front headlock position. Varner hits a pretty switch and gets back on top of Guillard! Guillard kicks Varner off and there's 20 seconds to go. Guillard hits a knee and they clinch, Varner with a death valley driver with five seconds to go! Guillard rolls to get a crucifix position as time expires. Guillard tackles and hugs Varner and they roll a bit in celebration.

Final result: Jamie Varner wins via Split Decision (30-27 x2, 27-30)

155 lbs.: Michael Johnson vs. Myles Jury

Round one: Rogan with a sarcastic yay as Anik walks us through the basic rules for the noobs. Jury in white (and so are his trunks) and Johnson in green (and black). Johnson with a nice couple of nice leg kicks. Anik with a solid troll, proclaiming Johnson is "on the cusp of the top 10, if he isn't in it." I have him completely unranked in my own top 25, and the composite rankings have him way down (the only three that go to 25 have him at 21, 25 and 25) for the record. Jury with the takedown and in Johnson's half guard. Jury passes to mount, Johnson escapes but Jury takes his back. Johnson reclaims half guard but Jury is landing a ton of unanswered punches. There were only a few at the start, but as Johnson rolled, Jury hit about thirty left hands to the side of Johnson's head. Johnson manages to get back into a semblance of control and he stops eating punches. Jury with side control and steps over into mount. Johnson rolls and Jury takes his back and threatens a rear naked as the time expires.

Round two: FX puts up a graphic showing punches landed for the fighters, and it sits at 47-3 in favor of Jury. Slow start to this round. Almost a minute in and nothing significant landed. Jury with a high kick partially blocked. Jury catches a kick from Johnson and gets the takedown about halfway through the round. Full guard for Johnson. Jury going slow, landing a few nice elbows as he punishes Johnson and wins the round. One minute left and Jury stands in Johnson's guard - he lands with more elbows. Slow pace, and I'm surprised Herb Dean isn't stepping in, as not much has happened. Ten seconds left and we get another graphic - 28 ground strikes for Jury and 3 for Johnson.

Round three: Johnson's corner telling him to go crazy and "GIVE IT! DO IT!" Johnson comes out aggressive and comes out swinging. Jury tries to make him pay for his aggression with a takedown attempt that Johnson stuffs. Jury pushes Johnson into the cage and is able to trip him a few seconds later. Half guard for Johnson as Jury tries to pass. We get the pass to side control on Johnson's right side. Johnson regains half, but he's still losing the round and fight. Johnson seems to have no clue how to scramble off his back. He doesn't have an active guard, and he isn't rolling or spinning. Jury in half guard and landing solid punches and elbows. Johnson has shown absolutely nothing off his back for 13 minutes. Unless something changes soon, don't be surprised to see a 30-26 or maybe even a 30-25. Brief scramble, but Jury lands back in half guard and hitting elbows. Twenty seconds and Jury is in a vague mount. Johnson FINALLY gets to his feet with about three seconds left, and the domination is over.

Final result: Miles Jury wins via Unanimous Decision (30-27 across the board)

265 lbs.: Philip De Fries vs. Todd Duffee

Round one: Phil of Fries in the red while the Duffman is in the multi-colored black and green. One of the shortest, smallest refs, Yves Lavigne is our third man in the ring. Duffee with an inside leg kick that stumbles Fries. Duff swarms for a bit with knees and they clinch into the cage. Fries reverses and takes him down. Duff struggles to get up and eats about five or six solid rights on the way up. Fries still clinching Duff up against the cage. Duffee with an over/under and now two underhooks to circle Fries back. Duffee misses and elbow and they finally separate. Duffee lands a right uppercut that wobbles Fries. Duffee's swarming with an overhand and eating huge, huge punches. Lavigne dives on top of Duffee to end it as Fries falls over.

Final result: Todd Duffee wins via TKO (punches) at 2:04 of round 1.

145 lbs.: Leonard Garcia vs. Max Holloway

Round one: Windmill and Mad up now. Max's nickname is actually "Blessed", but forget that noise. Same with "Bad Boy". Brittney showing off her sign-carrying skills. Holloway in white with black trim and Garcia in black. Holloway with a series of kicks to start off the first minute - teeps, leg kicks, etc. A conservative start from Garcia so far and lands a nice right with 3:40 left on the clock. Spinning back kick lands for Holloway. Holloway clips Garcia with a punch and sends Leonard to the mat. Garcia gets up and they keep fighting. Good pace so far. Holloway with a running leg kick. Garcia with a 3-punch combo and lands a right out of it. Holloway with a counter left. Garcia with a right leg kick. Garcia lands a solid 2 off of a 1-2 with a minute forty on the clock. Winging punch clips Holloway on the temple, but not enough. Another spinning back kick from Holloway. Garcia looks like he's fading a bit as he's throwing with a LOT of power. Garcia gets Holloway in the clinch and lands three right uppercuts with his dirty boxing. Garcia misses a wild head kick as the horn sounds.

Round two: Holloway misses another spinning back kick. Anik and Rogan - who are unsurprisingly unoffensive as a team - talk about Holloway taking the fight on 2 weeks notice. Garcia with a double jab. Holloway misses a head kick. Body punch and a leg kick for Holloway. Nice combo left and a kick for Holloway in an exchange. Holloway tries for a knee, but Leonard catches it and hits a takedown two minutes in. Garcia in Holloway's guard and Max is on his feet in about ten seconds. They clinch still, but Holloway escapes that, too, and we're halfway through the round. They both miss on punches and fly off in opposite directions. Garcia with a jab, but Holloway blocks his leg kick follow-up. Garcia lands a right to the jaw. 1-2 for Garcia with a 2 landing. And again. Holloway hits a left, but eats a solid punch with no ill effects. nice chin on the kid. Holloway with a stiff jab. Knee to the body at the end for Holloway while Garcia retaliates with an elbow. Really, this is the best Leonard Garcia I've seen in... three years? More?

Round three: Greg Jackson imploring Garcia to stick to the fundamentals, and why not, he looks like he might be winning this fight. Holloway with a nice jab to start the round. Garcia barking with every shot now as he digs in mentally. Holloway lands a counter right to the jaw, but Garcia comes forward, mostly missing now. Holloway with a solid right and Garcia whiffs on a spinning backfist. Holloway landing but not fazing Holloway. Winslow warns Holloway about the open fingers. Garcia in close to zombie mode, but he's not landing all that much. Holloway's truing hard, but not being very effective either. Garcia shoots for a takedown and lands it at 2:20 left. Holloway threatens a Kimura immediately. Garcia not doing much on top and Holloway gets up without taking too much damage. Having just typed that, Garcia hits a knee as Holloway stands up. Holloway lands a 2-3 and Garcia eats it and lands a hook. Fifty seconds left and they're standing in the cage throwing wild at each other! Good round for both people here. Holloway tries for a capoiera kick but his range was wrong and Garcia took him down. Holloway hits some elbows from bottom and tries for a triangle, but Garcia slams him at the buzzer as he pulls off the apparent upset. He's jubilant as we wait for the judges.

Final result: Oh god, I can't stop laughing, Leonard got screwed by the judges. Max Holloway wins via Split Decision (29-28 x2 and 28-29).

125 lbs.: Chris Cariaso vs. John Moraga

Round one: Cariaso/Moraga and not Airplane Garcia/Holloway are up first. And how nice, Youtube is giving us the walkouts, too. Moraga in black trunks and Cariaso in the red and white. Kim Winslow checking the fighters mouthpieces and apparently looking for toothpicks, which is awesome. Thanks, Bendo. Rogan warns us of the high kick from Cariaso and Chris obliges by feinting it. Moraga misses a jab and Cariaso hooks him for his trouble. Cariaso runs in with a charging low kick to the hip. Moraga catches it somewhat and lands a good shot in retaliation. Moraga whiffs and slips on an enormous right high kick. Moraga with the takedown, but lets Cariaso stand right back up. Moraga with a nice left counter punch. Moraga clinches and pushes him into the cage, but they back out. Cariaso with a liver kick and another 20 seconds later. Moraga with a right to the chest, feints and lands a lead left hook. Low kick to the calf from Cariaso.

Round two: Slow start to the second. Moraga blocking many of Cariaso's kick attempts. Rogan being very politic and mentioning the broken arms (from blocking kicks) of Couture and Franklin but not Shamrock. Moraga clinches Cariaso into the cage and they stall up against the wall for a bit. Cariaso with a knee up against the cage and eats an elbow to the dome over the top. Moraga counters a lead knee with a straight right. Cariaso kicks the left side of Moraga and John catches it, but isn't able to do anything with it. Cariaso has blocked but just barely a couple of head kicks this round so far. Moraga pushes Cariaso down but just kind of stands over him while Cariaso threatens with an open guard and upkicks that keep Moraga from doing anything. Cariaso lands an outside trip with about 30 seconds left, but isn't able to do much from Moraga's guard as the round ends.

Round three: I would assume that the fight is tied going into the third. Cariaso's done a good job mixing up kicks and punches while Moraga pretty much only has boxing. Moraga catches a body kick and lands a punch, but the kick still did some damage. Cariaso pushes Moraga up against the cage, but Moraga gets him in a front headlock and reverses it. He's clasping his hands and looking for the sub and gets it a minute in!

Final result: John Moraga wins via submission (front headlock choke) at 1:00 of round 3
