Bellator Fighting Championships returns TONIGHT (Oct. 19, 2012) to the Reading Eagle Theater in Reading, Pennsylvania, with the season seven lightweight tournament quarterfinals.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of Bellator 77 below, beginning with the MTV2 telecast at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, we'll deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the undercard action much earlier in the evening (beginning at 6:00 p.m.) as well as a live stream of all the action.
Headlining the main event of Bellator 77 will be a very interesting season seven lightweight tournament quarterifinal bout between unbeaten Russian star Alexander Sarnavskiy and UFC veteran Rich Clementi. Sarnavskiy enters the tournament as a prized prospect from overseas while Clementi is looking for one last big run as he nears the end of his career.
Also on tap, Brazilians Rene Nazare and Ricardo Tirloni are both looking to improve upon their last tournament appearances where they both failed to get past the season six quarterfinals respectively.
Two overseas grapplers will clash as Polish submission specialist Marcin Held takes on Russian choke specialist Murad Machaev and lastly, WEC veteran Dave Jansen takes on yet another Russian in the Greg Jackson-trained Magomed Saadulaev.

155 lbs.: Rich Clementi vs. Alexander Sarnavskiy
Round one: Big leg kick from Sarnavskiy gets things started. Big spinning back kick scores for Sarnavskiy and a spinning back fist. Huge knee from Sarnavskiy and Clementi works for a takedown. Clementi has Sarnavskiy's back standing and he's riding him like a backpack. Clementi hunting for a choke but gives up on it. Clementi drops some short punches from behind. Clementi again is threatening with a choke but Sarnavskiy is hanging in there. Clementi has the choke, the forearm looks like it's under the chin and Sarnavskiy falls to his back. Sarnavskiy is hanging on for dear life and he slips free! Wow. The bell rings before Clementi can finish it. 10-9 Clementi
Round two: Spinning back kick from Sarnavskiy and a big left hand connects for Sarnavskiy. Nice body kick from Sarnavskiy and Clementi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Clementi passes and he's got Sarnavskiy's back again. Clementi is throwing some soft punches from behind. Clementi has the body triangle now and he's still fishing for the choke but he can't get it. Sarnavskiy turns into Clementi, nearly gets armbarred but he drops some nice punches. Clementi forces Sarnavkiy close to avoid damage and the ref stands them up. Big spinning back fist from Sarnavskiy and a kick. Clementi shoots in for a takedown but Sarnavskiy stuffs it this time. 10-9 Clementi
Round three: Nice combination from Sarnavskiy early and he rocks Clementi. Sarnavskiy drops Clementi with a huge straight punch but he follows Clementi to the ground and Clementi starts hunting for a leg lock. Sarnavskiy twists free and drops some punches and he dives into Clementi's open guard. Clementi is working for a Kimura from bottom but Sarnavskiy avoids it. Short right hands from Sarnavskiy but he's not doing anything effective. The ref stands them up and Sarnavskiy needs to do something drastic. Clementi shoots in for a takedown but Sarnavski stuffs him and drops som eleft hands. Sarnavskiy backs off and forces Clementi to stand with him. Spinning back fist from Sarnavskiy hurts Clementi and Sarnavskiy presses forward but Clementi just drops to his back. Clementi takes top position and Sarnavskiy locks in a triangle with 10 seconds left but gives up on it and fires off punches from his back as time expires. 10-9 Sarnavskiy
Final Result: Rich Clementi defeats Alexander Sarnavskiy via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
155 lbs.: Dave Jansen vs. Magomed Saadulaev
Round one: Jansen presses forward with punches and both men trade kicks. Nice kick for Saadulaev as he's backing up and Saadulaev explodes forward, shooting in with a power double leg and he puts Jansen on his back. Jansen turtles and presses forward, landing a takedown of his own. Both men are working their respective ground games and they scramble, rolling on the ground but Saadulaev gets the upper hand. He's got Jansen's back with both hooks in. He can't secure anything and Saadulaev attempts a wild crucifix-type attack but he slips off and Jansen lands briefly in full mount. They scramble back to their feet and Saadulaev scores with a big left hand on the way up. Saadulaev shoots in for a takedown and Jansen hangs on to a guillotine but can't secure it. Jansen pops to his feet and works for a takedown as time expires. 10-9 Saadulaev
Round two: Jansen being the aggressor on the feet early, scoring with punches from a distance and landing solid knees from the Thai clinch. Saadulaev works for a takedown but can't get it and they reset. More strikes from range connect for Jansen and he stuffs a takedown, landing an uppercut. Saadulaev looks a bit tired and he scores with a left hand but eats an uppercut. Push kick from Jansen and another uppercut lands for him. Saadulaev is doing a good job with his left hook but Jansen shoots in and puts him on his back with a takedown. Jansen is hunting for an arm triangle choke but Saadulaev retains full guard and Jansen gives up on the choke. Jansen steps back and works some ground and pound, nice power shots to the head and body from Jansen from above and he's pouring it on. Janson drops hammer fists until the bell. 10-9 Jansen
Round three: Saadulaev shoots in for a takedown, pressing Jansen into the fence but Jansen jumps guard with a guillotine and Saadulaev taps out!
Final Result: Dave Jansen defeats Magomed Saadulaev via submission (guillotine) at 0:41 of round three

155 lbs.: Marcin Held vs. Murad Machaev
Round one: Held opens up with a jump kick to back Machaev off and they clinch briefly before resetting. Machaev is loading up with power but Held is pressing forward undeterred. Big right hand misses from Machaev and Held lunges in with a pair of big hooks that miss. Held is leaving openings for a counter shot but Machaev isn't taking advantage. Front kick and spinning back kick miss for Held but he pushes Machaev back. Held steps in with a right hand and he scores a takedown along the fence. Machaev works his way back to his feet but he eats a knee on the way up. Held is really driving into Machaev but he can't secure another takedown and they reset. Step in right hand lands for Machaev and he fires off a combination which is avoided. Another right hand brazes for Machaev and Held whiffs with a spinning back fist. Held is again working for a takedown along the fence and he fires off a knee before dragging Machaev down. Held scrambles wildly and goes for a leg lock as time expires. 10-9 Held
Round two: Body kick scores for Held to get things started and they trade left hands. Big flurry of strikes and Held is rocked but he clears the cobwebs by changing levels and shooting for a takedown. Held nearly pulls guard but pops back up and fires off a knee as they separate. Nice combination lands for Machaev and Held throws a combo but eats another left hand. Big right hand scores for Machaev and Held falls to his back trying to draw the Russian in. They clinch and Held lands a knee and an uppercut and they separate. Machaev has definitely found his range with his striking. Held rolls forward hunting for a leg lock but Machaev pulls out back to standing. Held gets to his feet and they trade left hands but Machaev gets the better of them. Leg kick from Held and they clinch but Machaev backs him off with punches. Nice right hand lands for Machaev as Held's hands are far too low. Spinning back kick whiffs for Held as time expires. 10-9 Machaev
Round three: More of the same early on as they trade strikes but Held just doesn't look like he's landing anything powerful. Held is being smart though, scoring with a jab. Neither fighter is really taking the initiative in this round considering how important this round is to the outcome of the fight. Machaev moving forward but he's telegraphing all of his blows badly. This round is not very good, but Held is at least being more active. I guess I'll go Held 10-9
Final Result: Marcin Held defeats Murad Machaev via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

155 lbs.: Rene Nazare vs. Ricardo Tirloni
Round one: Nazare has the cage center early and he grabs a leg, scoring a takedown briefly but Tirloni pops back to his feet. Nazare is still pressing him into the fence and Tirloni hunts for a standing guillotine with his arm in and he's firing off knees while controlling him. They trade big strikes and Nazare backs Tirloni off but Tirloni responds with a jumping knee to get back on the offensive. Nazare is again hunting for the takedown with a single leg but Tirloni again pops back up. They trade punches and Tirloni fires off a knee but slips which opens the door for Nazare to clinch again. They trade knees on the inside and Nazare stomps Tirloni's foot and both men reset in the cage center. Big knees in the clinch from Tirloni and he puts Nazare briefly in the Thai plum, driving knees. Nazare responds with some heavy punches along the fence which score right before the round ends. 10-9 Tirloni
Round two: Nice left hook for Nazare and Nazare is really pressing forward putting big pressure on Tirloni. Tirloni scores with a huge left hand that rocks Nazare and he drops for a guillotine choke. Tirloni is in top position and he's got a D'Arce choke. Tirloni is squeezing hard and Nazare taps out! Daaaamn!
Final Result: Ricardo Tirloni defeats Rene Nazare via submission (D'Arce choke) at 1:14 of round two
