Wagner Prado and Phil Davis first met at UFC on Fox 4: "Shogun vs. Vera" back on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles, California, a highly unsatisfying light heavyweight bout that ended after just 88 seconds when the former was poked in the eye by the latter.
The bout was declared a no contest and an immediate rematch set. That rematch took place on tonight's (Sat., Oct. 13, 2012) UFC 153: "Silva vs. Bonnar" main card in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The eye poke issue went out the window early when "Mr. Wonderful" got back to his wrestling roots, grabbing Prado up and dumping on his ass like a bully on the playground. There were some uncalled fouls in the opening frame, including a punch to the back of the head from Davis that had the crowd screaming "hey ref, fuck you" and Prado grabbing the fence with no regard for the unified rules.
No points were taken. Hell, they didn't even issue warnings.
The second stanza wasn't all that different than the first. Davis dominated with wrestling, grappling and positional control until he was able to lock on a fight ending Anaconda choke submission.
Easy peasy.
