There are maybe 50 people in the world giving Stephan Bonnar any sort of legitimate shot at defeating Anderson Silva in the main event of UFC 153 tonight (Sat., Oct. 13, 2012) at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
One of those 50 is Silva's former enemy number one, Chael Sonnen.
During the FUEL TV weigh-in post-show, "The American Gangster," unsurprisingly, offered his prediction in favor of "The American Psycho."
"I am going to take Stephan Bonnar. I think he does a lot well, but I think Silva looks out of shape and (Bonnar) looks very confident."
You can judge for yourself whether or not Silva looks out of shape for his return to the light heavyweight division by checking out this side-by-side picture comparison of his weigh-in for this fight as opposed to his tipping the scales at 184-pounds for his showdown against Sonnen himself back at UFC 148 on July 7 in Las Vegas.
He looks a little bit more filled out, sure, but out of shape?
That's questionable at best.
Considering most are expecting a spectacular first round knockout, perhaps "The Spider" doesn't even need to be in the best of shape. Then again, Bonnar is as durable as they come, able to withstand sick amounts of punishment without going away.
Even if he does, he won't go away quietly.
Does Bonnar have a shot? Sure; anyone does. But are you ballsy enough to agree with Sonnen and actually predict as much?
Well?
