Bellator 76 results and LIVE video stream for 'Alvarez vs Pitbull' TONIGHT (Oct. 12) on MTV2

Bellator Fighting Championships returns TONIGHT (Oct. 12, 2012) to the Caesar's Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada with a tremendous lightweight main event and the season seven featherweight tournament quarterfinals.

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of Bellator 76 below, beginning with the MTV2 telecast at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, we'll deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the undercard action much earlier in the evening (beginning at 6:00 p.m.).

Headlining the main event of Bellator 76 will be a highly anticipated lightweight bout between former Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and top Brazilian brawler Patricky Freire. The fight will be Alvarez's last under his current contract with Bellator so he's hoping to make a good impression on his available suitors outside the promotion with one last great performance.

Also on tap for the main card will be the Bellator season seven featherweight tournament quarterfinals which features eight prospects all vying for a shot at the 145 pound title and $100,000. Former tournament fighter Nazareno Malegarie battles ESPN-featured Rad Martinez while Brazilian veteran Wagnney Fabiano returns from injury to take on Russian Atop Stepanyan.

American prospect Mike Richman is also expected to compete as well as Russian Muay Thai, Sambo and kickboxing champion Shahbulat Shamhalaev.

Round one: Alvarez quickly takes the cage center and both men are feinting. Alvarez flashes a jab and scores with an inside leg kick. Left hook grazes for Pitbull and Alvarez steps inside with a huge left hand and Pitbull goes down. Pitbull pops back up and he hurts Alvarez with a left hand! They clinch and Pitbull scores with a knee. Alvarez looks to clear his head in the clinch and both men trade knees. They separate and Alvarez backs Pitbull off with a quick combination. Pitbull lands a heavy outside leg kick and Alvarez drops a hook to the body. Alvarez steps in with a right hand and both men trade right hands. Snapping right hand scores for Alvarez and Pitbull throws a left body kick which is blocked. Alvarez throws a right hand but is met with a knee to the body from Pitbull. Alvarez throws a head kick and Pitbull goes down! Alvarez takes jumps the cage and he takes off up the stairs of the arena! Wow!

145 lbs.: Rad Martinez vs. Nazareno Malegarie

Round one: Malegarie opens with a big inside leg kick and he scores with a right hand on the inside. Another leg kick from Malegarie and Martinez backs him off with some punches. Martinez steps forward and Malegarie thinks about a guillotine but backs off. Straight left hand lands for Malegarie and they clinch, Malegarie is bleeding out of his nose pretty heavily. Combination scores for Malegarie. Malegarie is landing more often here but Martinez did damage with his punches, drawing blood. Looping left hand scores for Martinez and Malegarie tries to swarm him with a flurry but Martinez hangs tough. Big knee from Martinez and he scores with a left hand that hurts Malegarie. Martinez again scores with the left and he keeps throwing it and Malegarie is wobbled. Malegarie's nose is bleeding like a faucet. Right hand from Martinez catches Malegarie off balance but he pops back to his feet. Huge left hand scores for Martinez and he shoots in for a takedown and gets it. He stays on top until the end of the round. Malegarie is a bloody mess. 10-9 Martinez

Round two: Malegarie shoots in for a takedown but Martinez stuffs him and throws some short knees in the clinch. Nice left hand scores for Malegarie but Martinez is not intimidated. Left hand scores again for Martinez. Malegarie lunges in with a flurry and he changes levels for a takedown. Martinez fends him off but eats some short left hands. Now Martinez shoots in for a takedown but Malegarie fends him off and is thinking about the guillotine but Martinez pops his head out. Head kick from Martinez whiffs. Both fighters trade heavy strikes in the pocket and find a home. Body kick from Martinez scores and then another left hand. Malegarie steps inside and throws a nice right hand. This round is still up for grabs and Martinez lands another left hand and then another. Martinez scores a body kick and a left right before the round concludes. 10-9 Martinez but it was closer this time

Round three: Both men trade strikes and Martinez scores a takedown but Malegarie sweeps him. Martinez quickly scrambles back to his feet and fires off a leg kick. Malegarie is pressuring Martinez here but Martinez grabs him and attacks with a takedown attempt. He briefly puts Malegarie down but can't keep him there as both men reset in the cage center. Nice right hand from Malegarie and Martinez looks tired. Malegarie looks to change levels but Martinez secures inside position. Body shots from Martinez and Malegarie throws a knee as they separate. Nice step-in left hand from Martinez and Malegarie scores with a right. Malegarie is turning it on but Martinez again gets inside position against the fence as both men trade knees. They trade heavy shots and both men eat big blows but Martinez gets the better of it, backing up Malegarie with his left hand. Nice right hand from Malegarie and Martinez responds with his left. Martinez hunts for a takedown and he's got a reverse body lock on Malegarie but he gives up on it. Left hand from Martinez drops Malegarie and both men trade heavy leather. Martinez scores a takedown with 20 seconds left and he drops some punches until the end of the fight. 10-9 Martinez

Round one: Stepanyan has control of the cage center and Fabiano shoots in for a takedown but can't get it. Fabiano is on the outside and Stepanyan lands a heavy inside leg kick. Nice sneaky right hand from Fabiano and Stepanyan scores with some short left and right hands. Fabiano shoots in for a takedown and he has Stepanyan with a body lock. He's trying to score an inside trip and he gets it, landing in side control after the takedown. Stepanyan scrambles to his feet but Fabiano still has an ankle and he drags him to the ground again and passes to side control. Fabiano passes to mount and he goes belly down hunting for an armbar. He's got the arm extended and Stepanyan is not tapping out. Finally Stepanyan taps out! He's devastated.

Round one: Richman stalking Spoon early and he fires off a few punches. Spoon fires back with some leg kicks and Richman OBLITERATES SPOON WITH A HEAD KICK! Wow!
