Yves Edwards vs. John Cholish booked for UFC on FOX 5 on Dec. 8 in Seattle

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added the lightweight bout of Yves Edwards vs. John Cholish to its upcoming UFC on FOX 5 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which is scheduled to take place at the KeyArena in Seattle, Wash., on Dec. 8, 2012.

MMA Fighting reported the match-up earlier today.

After Yves-dropping Edwards from the UFC on FX 5 show, thanks to an untimely arrest from Jeremy Stephens, UFC officials have given the master of Thugjistu a bigger and better stage to strut his stuff, on a card stacked from top-to-bottom with some of the best each division has to offer.

But the competition hasn't gotten any easier.

While he's not a household name (yet), Cholish (8-2) is one of the top prospects out of Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and was riding a nine-fight winning streak before Danny Castillo upended him earlier this year by way of unanimous decision as part of the UFC on FOX 3 card in New Jersey.

Edwards (41-18) is 3-2 since his ZUFFA return in late 2010.

UFC on FOX 5: "Henderson vs. Diaz" will feature a World Lightweight Championship bout between division kingpin Ben Henderson, defending his 155-pound strap against number one contender, Nate Diaz.

In addition, B.J. Penn vs. Rory MacDonald will meet in a welterweight scrap that pits the old school opposite the new, while Alexander Gustafsson will try to move to the head of the light heavyweight class when he tangles with former 205-pound champion Mauricio Rua.
