World Series of Fighting (WSOF) now has a co-main event.
Former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres will make his return to the cage against Shooto and XFC veteran Marlon Moraes at the promotion's NBC Sports Network debut on Nov. 3, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sherdog.com brought word of the pending match-up earlier today.
Torres (40-5) was released from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) following his defeat to Michael McDonald at UFC 145 last April. The knockout loss to "Mayday" came on the heels of a controversial rape joke on his official Twitter account that landed the longtime veteran in hot water.
It's all been downhill since then.
After coughing up the bantamweight belt to Brian Bowles under the WEC banner, Torres went 3-3 while failing to generate any kind of momentum to propel himself back into the 135-pound title hunt. This could be a fresh start for the outspoken fighter if he's able to make mincemeat of his streaking opponent.
Moraes (8-4) recently won back-to-back fights under the Xtreme Fighting Championship (XFC) umbrella. After outworking Chris Manuel for a unanimous decision victory last December, the former featherweight pasted Jarrod Card at the XFC 17 event back in April.
Time for the stiffest test of his young career.
World Series of Fighting, which takes place at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, will feature a 265-pound headliner between former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski and ex-Strikeforce hopeful Devin Cole.
