The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be holding a public press conference today (Sep. 27, 2011) to officially announce the upcoming event UFC 139: "Shogun vs. Henderson" which is scheduled to take place later this year (Nov. 19, 2011).

The conference will begin at 4 p.m. ET live from the San Pedro Square Market in San Jose, California, the home city of the event.

Scheduled to attend will be UFC president Dana White and headlining fighters of the evening: Mauricio Rua, Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva and Cung Le.

"Shogun" Rua is the former UFC light heavyweight champion and is coming off a quick first round destruction of Ultimate Fighter season one winner and fellow former champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 134 in Brazil.

He'll be challenged by Dan Henderson, the former simultaneous multi-divisional champion of Pride who came up short with two title shots in the UFC before becoming the Strikeforce light heavyweight champion. Henderson is coming off a monumental knockout victory over Fedor Emelianenko this past July and returned to the UFC afterwards.

Wanderlei Silva was a legend in Pride and is still a fan favorite in the UFC. He recently had his run in the middleweight division stopped short by the heavy-handed Chris Leben and accepted a bout against Cung Le in place of the injured Vitor Belfort, staving off retirement for at least one more fight.

Cung Le was the Strikeforce middleweight champion and possesses a very exciting arsenal of diverse strikes which helped turn him into a superstar in California. He's been distracted by a career in movies but a bout in the UFC was enough to call him back to MMA.

We'll have live stream video and complete updates of the UFC 139 press conference after the jump.

Rowdy crowd.

Cung Le: I'm very honored to be fighting for the UFC and I'm very excited to be fighting Wanderlei. Vitor, Wanderlei, it wouldn't have made a difference. I would have been equally excited for either one of them.

Dana White: We had been in negotiations with Henderson anyway. Shogun had won that fight in Brazil and this was a fight between two legends that never fought which is crazy. They were in the same weight class. Cung Le had been talking to me for a long time. He called me and we made it happen. Wanderlei wanted to keep fighting, to stay in the UFC and we're giving him this opportunity to stay in the UFC.

Dana White: Dan and I get along just fine. We butt heads here and there. I respect him as a fighter and he's beating the best in the world. I can't hate him for knocking Fedor out either. I'm happy to have him back.

Dan Henderson: I guess it's a little bit ironic that every time I win a title somewhere, Dana White has to buy the company to get me back. Just to get competition against top guys in the sport. Strikeforce has a number of guys that are tough and I feel like I fought some of the tougher guys over there. Beyond that, i wasn't excited about fighting anybody other than the guys in the UFC. I guess it was good timing to have them swoop up Strikeforce again.

Dan Henderson: I prefer to fight light heavyweight. I'm not fond of cutting weight. There's only one fight I'd cut weight for and that's Anderson [Silva].

Dana White: He's got to be Shogun first, and then we'll take it from there.

Cung Le: I actually learned my lesson the first time when I came back from Scott Smith. I wasn't very busy with training on set and just focusing on acting. Now I stayed in shape and when I came back to the states, I came back to the gym the following week. I've been training since February so I'll be ready to go here.

Wanderlei Silva: I love fighting, I love this sport. I grew up inside the ring and I will fight as long as I can.

Shogun Rua: Well Dan Henderson is a tough fighter and has been a stand-out for a long time since the Pride days. That was a fight that people want to see back then and it didn't happen. It only makes sense to fight the toughest guys and Dan Henderson is a tough fighter.

Cung Le: It really means a lot. I've fought on many platforms and different styles. Being a UFC fighter and the co-main event is a dream come true. I was looking at a picture of the refugee camp and being in the UFC, I'm very excited. I'm ready to rock and roll and give the fans what they want to see.

Wanderlei Silva: Some guys fight better in that position (back against the wall) and I'm one of those guys.

Dana White: If Koscheck wants to fight Fitch, maybe then we'll get him on the card. Koscheck told me he wants to fight on the card.

Cung Le: I just wanted to fight in the UFC whether it was in San Jose or somewhere else. Being in San Jose makes it even more exciting and that's what I wanted after finding out they were coming here.

Shogun Rua: I never really thought of that (dropping to middleweight). I never really considered that. My natural weight is 225-230 and I didn't really think I'd be able to.

Cung Le: It's a secret (how i'm preparing for Wanderlei)

Dan Henderson: Everyone can speculate why Silva doesn't want to fight me and I'm one of those people. Apparently he hurt himself.

Dan Henderson: I think it would be fun to go back and fight in Japan. It's a place that I fought for many years and enjoyed the fans over there.

Wanderlei Silva: I had some big events in MMA back in Japan. I hope for a fight there and I want to fight there.

Shogun Rua: I don't know, I've got a fight on the 19th of November so I don't know. (about Japan)

Shogun Rua: I saw the fight. I thought that Jones pretty much controlled the fight and fought very well. Right now I'm focused on my next fight and not the fight after that.

Cung Le: I am focused on this fight so right now it's all about being an MMA fighter.

Shogun Rua: I thought it was pretty cool. Rampage is actually a guy that I like a lot as a person, his personality. I think this fight is bound to happen sooner or later.
