Whether or not Fedor Emelianenko retires? That's up to God. So is the eventual fate of Vitor Belfort, at least according to the man himself, in regards to his future in the fight game.
He's 34-years-old but just as spry as ever. In fact, there's no shortage of fans and pundits alike yelling from the rooftops how the "old" Vitor is back and ready to wreak havoc on the middleweight division.
He started to do as much last night (Aug. 6) at UFC 133 in Philadelphia when he obliterated Yoshihiro Akiyama inside the first few minutes of the opening round in the co-main event of the evening.
Now he's setting his sights on the top dog of the division, whoever that may be after Aug. 27:
"I want the winner of (Yushin) Okami and Anderson Silva. If that's my choice, that's our goal. Our whole team has a goal -- we want the belt."
Of course, Belfort's crushing front kick knockout loss to "The Spider" just this past Feb. doesn't exactly help his cause. And there's also the matter of the Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann showdown at UFC 136 in Oct., which has already been dubbed a number one contender fight.
But if God wants it to be so, then so it shall be, right?
