The new wave of light heavyweight took on a powerful veteran in the final fight of the UFC 133 undercard which were aired live on Spike TV.

Alexander Gustafsson was hoping to score the biggest victory of his career against a durable veteran in Matt Hamill and he not only won, but finished the tough wrestler.

After a very close first round that saw little action and both men cut each other, the Swedish fighter turned up the heat in the second round and began to really hurt "The Hammer" with his range and aggression.

Midway through the second round, he landed a big combination that staggered Hamill and sent The Ultimate Fighter season three alumni to the canvas.

Refusing to be denied a finish, Gustafsson pounced and proceeded to unleash a huge assault of strikes that hurt the veteran wrestler. When Hamill gave up the full mount and continued to eat a large amount of ground and pound, the referee had seen enough and put a halt to the action.

This was a huge win for the Swedish prospect and should set him up to take it to the next level in the light heavyweight division.

For Matt Hamill, he is seriously regretting taking this fight on short notice, especially after taking a beating against Quinton Jackson in the main event of UFC 130 just a couple months ago.

Are you excited about Gustafsson's future? What happens to Hamill now?
