It's rookie vs. rookie in a welterweight scrap booked for UFC 134: "Rio" on August 27 from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Tatame.com reports that Nova Uniao standout Luis Ramos has been asked to step up on short notice to face fellow Brazilian Erick Silva after "Indio's" original opponent, Mike "Quick" Swick, was bounced from the South American fight card due to injury.
"Beicao" enters the Octagon at 19-6, having strung together three consecutive wins under the "Watch Out Combat Show" banner earlier this year and is 10-2 dating back to 2007.
Silva (11-1) has also been terrorizing the 170-pound division in his native Brazil, securing the finish in eight of his 11 wins en route to capturing the Jungle Fight welterweight championship.
UFC 134 will feature Anderson "The Spider" Silva defending his middleweight title against Yushin "Thunder" Okami, while Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will make his return to the Octagon for the first time since coughing up his 205-pound strap to Jon "Bones" Jones.
In addition, mixed martial arts legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will make what could be his last stand in front of a hometown crowd when he tries to quell the uprising of division prospect Brendan "The Hybrid" Schaub.
