UFC 134: Mike Swick injured, out of fight against Erick Silva on Aug. 27

via

I've got bad news for fight fans who are Swick and tired of waiting for one of the world's least durable welterweights to return.

You're going to be waiting a while longer.

That's because Nostradumbass man crush Mike Swick has reportedly suffered an injury, again, and has been forced to pull out of his scheduled UFC 134 bout against Erick Silva on Aug. 27 in Brazil.

The promotion brought the bad news just a short time ago.

A replacement has yet to be named but an announcement is expected to come shortly, which is good because Swick vs. Silva was set to air on the Spike TV broadcasted portion of the "Prelims."

Swick was supposed to be making his long-awaited return from a mysterious illness that involved esophageal issues that has kept him out of action since a Feb. 2010 loss to Paulo Thiago, which was his second in a row.

Thankfully, his employers are patient and have allowed the American Kickboxing Academy product to deal with his problems with a warm spot inside the Octagon reserved for whenever he gets healthy.

Hopefully sometime this century.

Silva is left in the lurch and awaiting a replacement opponent on just over three weeks notice. To make matters worse, the Brazilian will be making his Octagon debut.

No pressure.

There are a few other fights on the preliminary card that could serve quite well as replacements on Spike TV, such as Yves Jabouin vs. Ian Loveland and Rousimar Palhares vs. Dan Miller.

Stay tuned for that news and we'll pass it along, as well as Silva's new opponent, just as soon as it becomes available.
