Brazil is on fire tonight.
Thiago Tavares continued Brazil's dominance on the UFC 134 undercard on Spike TV with an incredible impressive showing against veteran Spencer Fisher in the final fight of the prelims.
Spencer Fisher is a fighter known for his well-rounded skills and his scrappiness but he had absolutely no answer for Tavares' aggressive grappling and ground and pound.
It was made pretty obvious early that Tavares didn't want to stand and trade, risking a knockout like his last fight against Shane Roller this past March.
Tavares shot in quickly and began going to work with ground and pound along the fence on Fisher, who had no answer for his overpowering style.
The fight wasn't stopped in the first round, but the damage had been done.
Tavares went right back to work with the takedowns, advancing position on the ground against "The King" and began raining down blows from back mount as Fisher was forced to cover up, unable to fight back.
After repeated warning from the referee, it was all over and Tavares celebrated in the center of the cage as the crowd roared in approval.
After victories by Paulo Thiago and Rousimar Palhares earlier tonight, the score is now Brazil: 3, World: 0
This was a great showing for Thiago Tavares, who gave away a victory in his last fight. Spencer Fisher has now lost four out of five fights and may be receiving his walking papers when this is all said and done.
