Strikeforce women's 145-pound champion Cristiane Santos has finally come to terms with the promotion on a new agreement after a lengthy negotiation process.

From her management (via MMARantsToday):

"Cris is ecstatic to be staying under the Zuffa umbrella for another year. She would like to thank Strikeforce and Zuffa for the opportunity to prove she is the best 145lb Woman in the world. Cris has been training and is ready to step back into the cage to defend her Strikeforce belt."

The Brazilian wrecking ball last competed in a two-round massacre of Jan Finney at Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Werdum" way back in June 2010.

While she was only 57-percent accurate against "Cuddles," Santos threw a frightening 158 total bombs in the opening frame alone and finished with a total of 141 out of 236 total strikes (60-percent) including 63 "power strikes" and six knockdowns.

That's one strike every 3.3 seconds. Scary.

Now she's back and eager to climb back inside the hexagon to defend the belt that's been gathering dust down in Curitiba. But have any clear cut contenders emerged while she's been away?

I hear there is an Olympic badass named Ronda Rousey who is bullying ladies all over the cage. Anyone interested?
