Former National Basketball Association (NBA) big man Shaquille O'Neal has plenty of time on his massive hands these days after retiring from the game on Jun. 3, 2011.
Throughout the past, O'Neal has publicly expressed interest in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). In a 2006 interview, "Daddy" was quoted as saying Randy Couture was his favorite fighter.
Around the time of his retirement in June, Shaquille reached out to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White to voice his desire to be involved with the promotion in some form or fashion. MMA Mania had the story.
In June of 2009, O'Neal called out Korean MMA fighter Hong Man Choi. Not surprisingly, nothing ever came of it.
Recently, "Shaq" spent a few minutes with the cast of HDNet's Inside MMA. During the segment, O'Neal discussed the top five former NBA players with whom he'd like to step into the cage.
The segment is just a sneak peek of the episode which will air on HDNet, tomorrow night (Friday, Aug. 12, 2011) at 9pm ET.
