Donald Cerrone vs Charles Oliveira fight set for UFC on Versus 5 with Paul Taylor hurt

It appears that another injury has forced Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to pull off another fight card switch-a-roo.

Donald Cerrone -- who was supposed to fight Paul Taylor -- will now take on Charles Oliveira -- who was recently rumored to fight Joe Lauzon at UFC 138 in November -- at UFC on Versus 5 on Aug. 14, 2011, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The promotion today announced that an injury to "Relentless" in training was the reason for the change:

AND THEN Paul Taylor got injured so now it's Charles Oliveira vs. Donald Cerrone in August and FOTN much!?!?!

Cerrone, who actually replaced an injured John Makdessi on the card, has been riding dirty through the UFC lightweight division since making the jump from the now defunct WEC promotion earlier this year.

He's rattled off two very impressive wins, over Paul Kelly and Vagner Rocha, respectively. He's clearly got no qualms fighting whenever and whoever to get up to win number three.

If he can do it, it would give him five in a row. Time to make him a contender?

Standing in his way is Oliveira, who recently defeated Nik Lentz via submission following an illegal knee (it was later ruled a no contest) at UFC on Versus 4.

It was widely speculated that an immediate rematch would make the most sense for all involved. And while that may still ring true, an apparent upcoming surgery for "The Carny" has postponed those plans and the Brazilian is free to tango with another available lightweight contender.

UFC on Versus 5 will feature a bevy of marquee match ups, including Dan Hardy getting one last chance to go out on his shield against Chris Lytle. In addition, surging lightweight contenders Jim Miller and Ben Henderson will square off in a bout that may very well go a long way in determining the next number one contender to the 155-pound title.
