Tim Kennedy vs Robbie Lawler odds for Strikeforce event on July 30

Strikeforce middleweights Tim Kennedy and Robbie Lawler will sling leather at tomorrow night's (July 30) "Fedor vs. Henderson" Showtime event, which will emanate from the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, IL.

Kennedy, who makes his way into the outskirts of the "Windy City," was last seen strangling Melvin Manhoef at the "Feijao vs. Henderson" event back in March.

It was his first fight back since his title loss to Ronaldo Souza, a close five-round decision defeat. That, combined with the fact that he's won five of his last six bouts, has the former Green Beret marching into the cage as a -280 betting favorite.

Lawler was last in action this past January in San Jose, also coming up short against "Jacare," submitting to a rear-naked choke in the third frame.

That loss continued the streak of win-one, lose-one that "Ruthless" has been riding since July 2008, which the oddsmakers believe will be snapped tomorrow night and have accordingly pegged him as the +220 underdog.

Or it could be due to the dangerous submission skills of Kennedy, something Lawler has struggled with in the past, losing five of seven contests by way of tap, nap or snap.

Can he stay upright long enough to uncork one of his trademarked bombs?

Tim Kennedy (-280) vs. Robbie Lawler (+220) at Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Henderson." Who ya' got and why?
