Well-traveled mixed martial arts veteran Chris Cariaso has been tapped to welcome British import Vaughan Lee to the Octagon on Nov. 5 for the UFC 138 Spike TV event in Birmingham, England.
The promotion made the bout official earlier today.
Cariaso (11-3) cut his teeth on the regional circuit before working his way up to Strikeforce, eventually making his Zuffa debut under the now-defunct World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) banner in June 2010.
"Kamikaze" posted a 1-1 record in the WEC before graduating to the UFC earlier this year, splitting a pair of bouts in two appearances with his most recent effort resulting in a close split decision loss to Michael McDonald over the Memorial Day Weekend.
Now he's headed across the pond to try his luck on International soil.
Waiting for him will be Lee (11-6-1), who's quietly assembled a three-fight win streak in the United Kingdom including a technical knockout victory over Marlon Jones earlier this month.
The Birmingham native has ten finishes in 11 wins.
UFC 138, recently announced for the LG Arena at the National Exhibition Centre, will be headlined by the promotion's first-ever five-round, non-title fight featuring a middleweight mash-up pitting division hopefuls Chris Leben and Mark Munoz in what should be a violent war of attrition.
In addition, former welterweight number one contender Thiago Alves will make his return to the Octagon against Swedish newcomer Papy Abedi.
