The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) alums, from two different seasons -- DaMarques Johnson and Clay Harvison -- will collide in a welterweight match up planned for UFC Fight Night 25: "Battle on the Bayou."
Ultimate FIghting Championship (UFC) announced the booking, which will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La., on Sept. 17, 2011, earlier this evening via its official website.
Johnson, a runner up on season nine of the promotion's reality show franchise, has dropped two of his last three bouts. He holds an even (3-3) record inside the Octagon, losing his most recent fight terribly to another TUF alum, Amir Sadollah, via beatdown submission (verbal).
"Darkness" clearly needs a win over "Heavy Metal" to not only get on the positive side of the ledger, but also erase the memory of the thrashing that he absorbed in his last outing.
Harvison, who was bounced out of season 13 courtesy of a Ramsey Nijem -- the show's eventual runner up -- rear naked choke in the quarterfinals. He rebounded at TUF 13 Finale, scoring a split decision over Justin Edwards after three rounds of action.
"Battle on the Bayou" will feature a pair of welterweight wrestlers hitting the mat in the main event, as Jake Shields will return to action to take on hard-hitting grappler extraordinaire Jake Ellenberger. Also booked for "The Big Easy" is a middleweight showdown that will showcase the triumphant return of Alan Belcher, who was nearly blinded in an unfortunate training accident, when he takes on veteran Jason MacDonald.
