UFC on Versus 4 medical suspensions and injuries for 'Kongo vs Barry' on June 26

New, comments

The Pennsylvania Athletic Commission (PAC) has released its list of medical suspensions for the UFC on Versus 4: "Kongo vs. Barry" event that took place on June 26, 2011, at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

With several of the bouts ending early (and violently), there were a handful of fighters who were flagged follow up visits with their doctors.

In fact, a handful is precisely the number of fighters sent on a mandatory vacation, as the PAC, the same commission Dana White referred to as the best in the country, only issued five suspensions.

Chief among them is Pat Barry, who will not only be riding the pine for a mandatory 60 days but will also need neurological clearance before he's allowed to return to action.

This is thanks to Cheick Kongo's hail mary uppercut that sent "HD" to the mat crumpled up in a heap.

Also on the shelf for 60 days is Christian Morecraft after Matt Mitrione played Donkey Konga on his face for a round and a half in their heavyweight hustle.

But that's not all.

Here is the complete list of UFC on Versus 4 medical suspensions (via Sherdog):

Pat Barry -- Suspended 60 days, must be cleared by a neurological doctor

Christian Morecraft -- Suspended 60 days

Nik Lentz -- Suspended 60 days, must have eye examined and cleared

Matt Grice -- Suspended 45 days

Edward Faaloloto -- Suspended 30 days

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
