Strikeforce results wrap: Overeem vs Werdum event review, news and notes

Strikeforce capped off the second leg of its heavyweight grand prix tournament last Saturday night (June 18, 2011) live on Showtime from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

It was a night to remember -- but not for the right reasons.

Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum failed to deliver on the massive hype surrounding their long-anticipated rematch, while Josh Barnett's complete and utter destruction of Brett "The Grim" Rogers was basically a foregone conclusion.

On a more positive note, Daniel Cormier continued to raise his stock in the 265-pound division by melting Jeff "The Snowman" Monson while Chad Griggs dug a grave for the Strikeforce career of Valentijn Overeem.

In cased you missed any or all of it - or just want to keep the discussion alive - below are links to all the major storylines coming out of last weekend's broadcast.
