Who guessed this one?

Now that Kenny Florian has passed his first test in the featherweight division by defeating Diego Nunes at the UFC 131: "Dos Santos vs. Carwin" event last night (June 11, 2011) in Vancouver, it appears he'll be getting the next crack at division champion Jose Aldo.

Dana White dropped the word at the UFC 131 post-fight press conference, saying "Ken Flo" is "more than likely" to receive the next shot.

The timing works out wonderfully for both parties. Aldo is still dealing with a nagging neck injury that will likely keep him out until Sept. or Oct.; right around the time Florian should be ready to climb back inside the cage.

Does Florian truly deserve the title shot after just one fight at 145-pounds? Maybe, maybe not.

He does hold the most name value in the still shallow division and Aldo vs. Florian is a veritable main event level fight. Still, is this what the fans want? Well, Maniacs ... is it?

Stay tuned to for more as it develops with this possible match-up.
