Quinton Jackson is living "In the Moment."
The former light heavyweight champion will take on the venerable Matt "The Hammer" Hamill in the main event of UFC 130: "Rampage vs. Hamill" this Saturday night (May 28) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
To help get fight fans stoked for the upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event, the promotion is taking to the airwaves with a special look at the man behind the "Rampage."
Jackson will be taking the spotlight in his own 30-minute special that will be an "all-access program featuring his training sessions, to his media appearances, to his everyday life at home. Viewers will get an inside look at Jackson’s life as he prepares to take the next step in reclaiming the UFC light heavyweight championship."
"Rampage" Jackson: "In the Moment" airs TONIGHT (May 25, 2011) at 10 p.m. ET on Spike TV and you can check out a video teaser for this evening's telecast after the jump.
Jackson has been on a roller coaster (at least in the media) as of late. He originally accepted a fight against Thiago Silva for UFC 130 but an injury to Rashad Evans forced an opening at UFC 128 against then-Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio Rua.
The UFC came calling asking if "Rampage" wanted the title shot but "Shogun" blew the lid off before 'Page explained he was simply too big to cut the necessary weight in time.
Then the news of Silva's urinary issues with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) brought word that he would need a new opponent and rumors were quick to fly that he would instead rematch Evans.
Nope.
Now he finally has an opponent in Hamill, who will bring a strong wrestling game that Jackson has struggled with at times in the past. Can the boxer make it a brawl and punch his way to a title shot?
Fight fans will get a first hand look at his preparations to judge for themselves if he can do just that.
