For fans of mixed martial arts, this past weekend was about as good as it gets.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to pay-per-view last Saturday night (April 30, 2011) with UFC 129: "St. Pierre vs. Shields," featuring Georges St. Pierre successfully defending his welterweight title against division number one contender Jake Shields.
But that's not all.
Reigning UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo made his Octagon debut with a convincing unanimous decision win over the scrappy Mark Hominick while Steven Seagal Lyoto Machida retired Randy Couture with a fight-ending Crane kick.
