Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today added a couple of interesting match-ups to the UFC on Versus 4 fight card for its trip to the Consol Energy Center on June 26 in Pittsburgh, PA.
First up is the return of lightweight phenom Charles Oliveira (14-1), who saw his rising star get swallowed up by the 155-pound black hole that is Jim Miller. "Do Bronx" suffered the first loss of his career at UFC 124 last December when he was submitted by Miller in the first round.
Catching him on the rebound is Nik Lentz (21-3-2), who is undefeated (with one draw) in six trips to the Octagon.
"The Carny" treated Waylon Lowe like the bearded lady with a third round submission win at UFC Fight Night 24 just last month, sending the "American" to the bottom of his "Team."
A convincing win for Lentz in "Steel City" could make a strong argument for his place among the top division contenders.
In welterweight action, T.J. Grant (16-5) tries to get back into the win column against Matt Riddle after a unanimous decision loss to Ricardo Almeida at UFC 124 last December. His bite from the "Big Dog" put the Canadian at an even 3-3 as a Zuffa employee.
Riddle (5-2) was solved by Sean Pierson, also at the "St. Pierre vs. Koscheck" event, but put on an entertaining three rounds of action before falling to the ex-cop by unanimous decision.
The Montreal defeat snapped a two-fight winning streak.
UFC on Versus 4 will feature a bevy of marquee match ups, including a welterweight brouhaha between muscle-bound martial artists Nate Marquardt and Anthony Johnson.
In addition, Joe Stevenson will make his featherweight debut against Javier Vazquez, while Manny Gamburyan welcomes Tyson Griffin to the 145-pound division.
