UFC on Versus 5: Duane Ludwig vs Amir Sadollah and T.J. O’Brien vs Cole Miller fights set for Milwaukee on Aug. 14

The UFC on Versus 5 fight card is beginning to take shape.

Company president Dana White today announced that Duane Ludwig and Amir Sadollah have verbally agreed to fight each other inside a cage, while lightweights T.J. O'Brien and Cole Miller have agreed to do the same on Aug. 14, 2011.

While a destination and a venue for UFC on Versus 5 are still unofficial at this time, the event is expected to take place at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Here's what White had to say about the matchmaking:

"A match that has a shot at being ‘Fight of the Night’ has been verbally agreed to for UFC On Versus this August, as Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig and Ultimate Fighter winner Amir Sadollah will throw down. Verbal agreements are also in for a battle of submission specialists as ‘The Spider’ TJ O’Brien will face Cole ‘Magrinho’ Miller."

Ludwig recently snapped a two-fight losing streak with a split decision win over Nick Osipczak at UFC 122 in Nov. 2010. "Bang," 32, is a mixed martial arts veteran who -- as his name suggests -- has finished 50 percent of his opponents via (technical) knockout.

Sadollah, meanwhile, is enjoying a two-fight win streak, smashing DaMarques Johnson into submission in his most recent performance at UFC Fight Night 24 in March 2011. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 winner has struggled against top competition, losing to Dong Hyun Kim and Johny Hendricks, but has been solid otherwise.

Ludwig and Sadollah were originally booked to face off at the aforementioned UFC Fight Night 24; however, a sternum injury forced "Bang" off the card.

This is the sophomore Octagon effort for O'Brien, who got pounded out by Paul Kelly in two rounds at his debut at UFC 123 in Nov. 2010. "The Spider" came in riding high with six consecutive submission finishes. In fact, the Canadian has won all 16 of his professional fights via tapout.

Miller is no slouch on the ground either, winning four of his last six fights with submissions. "Magrinho," however, has been able to win more than two fights in a row throughout his UFC career -- he most recently dropped a decision to Matt Wiman at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 earlier this year.

The good news, for Miller, is that if current trends continue he should get the nod over O'Brien.
