The fight that Greg Jackson never wanted to see, Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans, will likely occur in "September or October" according to UFC President Dana White.
The bossman broke the news posting on The Underground forum (via Fighters Only).
Jones decisively defeated Mauricio Rua to win the light heavyweight title at UFC 128 on March 19. "Bones" stellar run through the 205-pound division has culminated in his being crowned the new king of not only the weight class, but possibly the entire sport.
Charged with the duty of being the first man to attempt to dethrone him is Evans, a former training partner and teammate who has since moved to Florida to train with Imperial Athletics after the falling out with Team Jackson.
There is no word on an exact date, or event, but we'll pass that information along as soon as it becomes available.
