UFC Quick Quote: Shane Carwin twitter defends Fedor Emelianenko's legacy

Index_php_medium

"I have nothing but respect for Fedor. We all lose, that is the one thing you can be sure of in MMA. He is still a GOAT imo ... you lose two fights and end up with a 31-3 record and people question his relevance. I do not get it. HoF inductees are 19-10 & 25-15."

Only as good as your last fight? Not according to former UFC heavyweight number one contender Shane Carwin, who defends the career of Strikeforce heavyweight attraction Fedor Emelianenko via his official Twitter account. The "Emperor" was "Last" in the promotion's heavyweight grand prix tournament, falling to Antonio Silva on Feb. 12 in East Rutherford, NJ, to drop to 1-2 as a Strikeforce employee. Carwin also compares the Russian juggernaut's 31-3 record to some of his Zuffa brethren like Randy Couture, who stands tall in the UFC Hall of Fame with a record of 19-10. Is "The Engineer" manufacturing excuses for Emelianenko? Or do current struggles have no effect on past accomplishments? The outspoken Carwin has taken a stance ... are you on his side?
