UFC 126 drug test results are in from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), who today confirmed that 13 fighters tested for illegal/banned substances after competing at UFC 126: "Silva vs. Belfort" on Feb. 6 have all passed with flying colors.
Main event participants Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort as well as Rich Franklin, Forrest Griffin, Jake Ellenberger, Jon Jones, Miguel Torres, Donald Cerrone, Chad Mendes, Paul Taylor, Demetrious Johnson, Mike Pierce and Kyle Kingsbury were all screened for performance enhancers such as steroids and drugs of abuse like cocaine and marijuana, among others.
Results from these battery of tests all returned negative.
The fighters mentioned above were randomly selected. However, athletic commissions typically test the main event participants and fight night winners, as well as those who have failed drug tests in the past.
UFC 126 featured a main event title fight between Brazilian rivals Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort. "The Spider" retained his 185-pound title with a highlight reel knockout in the first round after flooring "The Phenom" with a front kick to the face.
Also in action were former champions Forrest Griffin and Rich Franklin. "Ace" came up short on the judge's cards after three rounds of getting pushed around by his larger and stronger foe.
Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, Miguel Torres and Chad "Money" Mendes also picked up victories.
