Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida today (Dec. 9, 2011) unveiled his new buff body at the UFC 140 weigh in, tipping the scales one pound less than the 205-pound division limit.
That's normal for "The Dragon," who has never really struggled to make weight. However, in preparation for his title fight tomorrow night (Dec. 10, 2011) against divisional kingpin, Jon Jones, at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the Brazilian reportedly packed on an abnormal 22 pounds of muscle.
The 204.5-pound photo on the left is prior to Machida's fight against Randy Couture at UFC 129 back in April 2010, which he won via second round technical knockout (front kick). The 204-pound photo on the right was taken earlier today, nearly seven months of conditioning later, at the UFC 140 weigh in event.
Can you see the difference? Perhaps more important, will it make difference once the cage door closes?
