The official weigh-in for "Cotto vs. Margarito II" went down today at the Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Aside from lightweight champion Brandon Rios, all main card fighters successfully made weight, including headliners Miguel Cotto (152.25) and Antonio Margarito (152.5).
Rios came in looking drained, disrobing immediately and forcing them to bring out the towel. Despite an extra hour to cut the remaining weight, his final weight was 136.6 pounds. Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reports that the fight will go on regardless.
If anyone's feeling lucky, John Murray's +900 odds are looking pretty tempting right about now...
In addition to the titular scrap, "Cotto vs. Margarito II" will feature a lightweight title clash between incumbent champion Brandon Rios and British slugger John Murray. In addition, Pawel Wolak and Delvin Rodriguez will square off once again to try to top their spectacular Fight of the Year candidate that took place earlier this year. Finally, unbeaten Mike Jones and Argentina's Sebastian Lujan will go toe-to-toe in a title eliminator.
Full weigh-in results after the jump.
