UFC 142: "Aldo vs. Mendes," emanating from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Jan. 14, 2012, now has an official home for its preliminary card offerings.
Word out of MMA Fighting is that the entire UFC 142 undercard will shift from the Facebook live stream, home to UFC "Prelims" over the past several months, to the FX channel come fight night:
FUEL TV, who shares the same parent company, FOX, as FX, will broadcast the majority of UFC prelim bouts in 2012, however, the UFC 142 undercard will air on the network's sister channel, FX.
FUEL TV will air the weigh-ins live and a post-fight show immediately following the event.
In short, expect the FX channel to be a one-off for the upcoming UFC 142 Prelim fights before the promotion settles into its new undercard home on FUEL TV.
In the main event of the evening, Jose Aldo will defend his featherweight championship against top contender and suffocating wrestling Chad Mendes. In addition, super popular Brazilian banger Vitor Belfort will get his chance to show off in front of his native fans against middleweight debutant Anthony Johnson.
