The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil now has a pair of coaches.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today (Dec. 13, 2011) announced that Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort will go head-to-head on the mixed martial arts reality show as each middleweight masher tries to lead a group of up-and-coming fighters to the promised land.
At the conclusion of the season, filmed entirely in Portuguese and airing via Globo, they will face off for a second time on a date and location to be determined.
Silva has been looking for revenge since the pair first met inside the cage more than a decade ago at UFC 17.5: "Ultimate Brazil." Belfort defeated Silva in just 44 seconds by way of technical knockout.
Their initial bout did little to resolve their differences.
Silva has since referred to "The Phenom" as "mentally weak" while Belfort insists "The Axe Murderer" is "just a spectator who wants to get attention for himself."
Wandy is fresh of a second-round shellacking of former Strikeforce 185-pound champion Cung Le while Belfort must still report to the UFC 142 pay-per-view event on Jan. 14 in Rio to challenge hard-hitting middleweight Anthony Johnson.
No stateside broadcast arrangements have been made for TUF Brazil at this time, but stay tuned to MMAmania.com for more information as it becomes available.
