Rory MacDonald may have suffered an injury that forced him off tonight's (Dec. 10, 2011) UFC 140: "Jones vs. Machida" event but his next fight is still likely to happen up in "The Great White North."
That's because MMAFighting.com brings word that "The Waterboy" will take on Che Mills at UFC 145, a yet to be announced event that will take place on March 24, 2012, in Montreal, Quebec.
MacDonald was supposed to square off against Brian Ebersole tonight before getting hurt and replaced by Claude Patrick. It was a tough blow for "Ares," who is looking to build on two impressive victories his last two times in the cage over Nate Diaz and Mike Pyle, respectively.
But is Mills a step back?
Che Mills is a Cage Rage British welterweight champion who just made his UFC debut this past Nov. 5 in Birmingham, England, with a 40 second knockout of Chris Cope.
He didn't just earn "Knockout of the Night" honors. He also won himself a date with one of the hottest young prospects in the entire promotion. And in his own backyard, no less.
No pressure.
UFC 145 has yet to be officially announced by the promotion but is expected to take place on March 24, 2012, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. MacDonald vs. Mills is the only rumored bout for the card at this time.
