While it's not exactly clear who Chael Sonnen will be fighting next, we can all probably agree that it won't be against middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who's riding Brazilian pine until June 2012 to rehab a bum shoulder.
There is, of course, the potential match-up against fellow 185-pound contender Mark Munoz, which according to sources is still being looked at for UFC on FOX 2 on Jan. 28 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
That scuttlebutt has continued to intensify as recently as Nov. 30, as the incomparable "Showdown Joe" Ferraro tweeted that "numerous sources" are pointing to a Sonnen vs. Munoz co-main event for the "Windy City."
It could be that his fight against "The Philippino Wrecking Machine" never made it past the bargaining table. Or, perhaps, the trash-talking middleweight is trying to throw the bloodhounds off the scent.
Either way, he told Fight Hub TV he has no fight against Munoz, but will be watching the main event between Michael Bisping and Jason Miller, as part of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 Finale on Dec. 3 in Las Vegas, very closely.
"I have no fight with Mark Munoz. My next fight will be based on, I don't know how much I can say, but I'll be watching the TV Saturday night, put it that way."
He also claims to have never heard of GQ Magazine, so consider the source.
Hear that and more from Sonnen, including his reaction to "The Spider" being named "Man of the Year" for 2011, after the jump.
