This "fire" is going to have to go burn somewhere else.
That's because Eliot Marshall, following consecutive losses in his return to the world's largest fight promotion, has been cut by the UFC. He broke the news himself with this short message on Twitter:
"Well its official. I have been released by the UFC."
It's been a tough run of luck for Marshall in his two separate stints fighting inside the Octagon. After appearing on season eight of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), he won his next three contests before dropping a split decision to Vladimir Matyushenko. He was released for the first time shortly thereafter.
Another three fight win streak fighting for various organizations around the world led him back to the UFC where he was knocked out by Luiz Cane at UFC 128 and lost a somewhat controversial decision to Brandon Vera at UFC 137. Now it's back to the drawing board ... again.
Surprised at all, Maniacs?
